Those little details make a difference! 💜 From pointed toes to strong shapes and controlled movements, our gymnasts work on the details that help build strong foundations. It's all part of learning to move with purpose and confidence. 🤸‍♀️

Before the ribbon even moves, the body has to know the rotations.

Luna builds a risk in pieces, first a walkover, then a double chaîné on its own, then the two combined, releasing the ribbon in the walkover and turning underneath.

Once the release is clean, the chaîné goes back in to complete the skill. And the whole time she's keeping the ribbon off the floor, because the moment it touches down, it costs a deduction. Precision hiding inside something that looks graceful.

Fun fact from the gym: big throws sometimes end with the apparatus stuck on the roof.

Our fix? A designated hoop wrapped in sports tape, sticky side out, thrown up to catch the runaway and bring it back down.

Those "silly" animal movements your little one loves are doing more than they look.

Monkey jumps, giraffe walks, crab walks, we use them to build coordination, get the left and right sides of the brain working together, and develop gross motor skills, all while it just feels like play.

Try a few at home. Ask for monkey jumps, then giraffe walks with eyes forward and tall, then a crab walk. They'll think it's a game. It's groundwork.

A strong routine isn’t just a collection of individual skills. ✨ The transitions, timing, movement quality and connection to the music all help create a routine that feels smooth and purposeful. It’s something our gymnasts build through consistent practice. 💜

There’s more to performing a routine than learning the movements. 🎶 Musicality helps gymnasts connect their movement to the music through rhythm, timing and expression. This week, we’re bringing those elements into training. 💜

There's no perfect age to start gymnastics, whatever you've been told.

A lot of it is just readiness, or a child who's tried other sports and hasn't found the one that speaks to them yet. So my honest advice is give it a go, because you don't know where they'll end up. If it's for fun and fitness, the recreational program suits any age.

If you're aiming toward competitive or high performance, then yes, starting earlier gives them more runway. But the first step is the same for everyone. Just start.
