Gold Coast District Cricket Club The Gold Coast Dolphins is a Queensland Premier Cricket club. Georgia Redmayne was recently selected to represent Australia.

The Mission of the Club is to:

Provide the opportunity for any cricketer in the Gold Coast and Tweed Districts to compete in the highest level of cricket for which he or she is capable of playing. and to help:

Foster, develop, co-ordinate and promote the game of cricket in the Gold Coast and Tweed Districts. Details:

Since its inception in 1990, the Dolphins have produced a number of Australian and Queensland representative players including Andrew Symonds, Scott Muller, Dirk Wellham, Greg Campbell, Graeme Hick and Craig McDermott. Current first class players include Michael Neser, Xavier Bryant, Max Bryant and Matthew Kuhnemann. The home ground and clubhouse is located at Bill Pippen Oval (formerly Kerrydale Oval) on Priddeys Road, Robina, and is adjacent to the Robina Town Centre. The clubhouse is open on training nights and match days during summer and is available for hire.

It’s not looking like much cricket will be played this coming weekend, so take a look back at last weekend’s Team of the Week!

Bailey Stewart’s all-round efforts helped 2nd Grade men to an outright victory on Saturday, with Connor Brown snaring 4 wickets as well.

Oam Patel’s 5 wicket haul helped stopped Toombul’s run chase at La Frantz, with the game ending in a draw. Henry Shutie claimed 4 wickets in BMC’s loss at Norths.

Lachy Aitken was the top scorer with an unbeaten 82* after 1st Grade men claimed first innings points at Ipswich. Well done to all this week’s picks! 🐬💪🏏

Our bowlers stole the show in the Men’s competition this weekend. Zac McDermott claimed his first 5-fa of the season (5/42) in 1st Grade, while Oam Patel unstoppable, securing his second consecutive five-wicket haul (5/58) in 3rd Grade.

1st Grade Men also brought home the W, after bowling Ipswich all out our men went in for a second bat. Special mention to Lachy Aitken 82* (82) & Steph Muller 63*(104) on some outstanding batting to help lock the win in.

2nd Grade celebrated a brilliant outright win against Ipswich, courtesy of an 8/244 declaration and clinical bowling from Connor Brown 4/28 (16) and George Booth 3/10(3.4) in the second innings.

In the Women’s grades, 1st Grade backed up last week’s success with a win led by Laura Schiewe (31 runs & 1/6) and Lindsay Boas (21). 2nd Grade took home the points against Wests in a rain-shortened match via DLS, anchored by Gypsy Sherratt (23) and Lucia Taylor (19*)

Unfortunately it didn’t go our way for our youth teams this round—dust off we go again next week! 🐬🏏💪

Congratulations to Jaxson Davies on his recent selection into the QLD U19 Preparation Squad for this year’s National Championships. Jaxson will participate in an 8 week program, before a final Team is selected.

This is another exciting step in his cricket journey, after being successful last year with QLD U17’s and we can’t wait to see what comes next. Well done, Jaxson! 🐬

Gold Coast Dolphins Team of the Week time!

Luke Ward hit a rapid fire ton in 3rd Grade on the weekend, ending up with 113 off just 69 balls as GC piled on 5/356 at Toombul, with Lachlan Diven and Nathan Iffland also cashing in. Linda Machin's form for 2nd Grade women continued with an unbeaten 74* off just 53 in their win over Sandgate.

Young spinners Uditi Ratnala and Theo Nikolich both claimed 5 wicket hauls on Saturday, with 4 wickets to Bailey Stewart and Cooper Brown. Well done to all this week's picks.

From a blank piece of wood to a custom cricket bat!
At the start of the year, Sabine chose to make her own cricket bat from scratch for her Year 10 project. Big thanks to Rod Grey at Cooper Sports for letting her come into the workshop to design, build, and craft everything—including her own decals and logos! Last week, she proudly presented the finished masterpiece to parents and students. Not only did she crush the project, but she’s also a trendsetter: Sabine was the first person ever to do this, and Cooper Sports are now making it an official experience for kids and adults! Thanks for sharing this incredible experience with us. 🐬🏏

A big weekend for the Gold Coast Dolphins, starting on Saturday. 1st Grade men posted 199 with Sam Weir scoring a second consecutive half century. Zac McDermott then claimed 3 Hornets wickets, with the game poised; Ipswich 7/102.

2nd Grade men have first innings points at home; Bailey Stewart the chief destroyer with 4 wickets to help dismiss Ipswich for 141. Emmaus Benn scored 68, with GC closing the day with a lead of 27.

3rd Grade were very productive at Toombul. Luke Ward scored a brutal 113 off just 69, Lachlan Diven added an unbeaten 92* and Nathan Iffland 75 as the Dolphins made 5/356 by stumps.

4th Grade rallied to eventually dismiss the Bulls for 260 at Andrew Symonds Oval. Tavs spinners Theo Nikolich (5/81 off 23) and Cooper Brown (4/36 off 20) did the bulk of the damage.

Under 16 girls had a great win in Saturday evening’s T20 against Norths. Skipper Uditi Ratnala claimed 5/9 to help restrict the hosts to 8/48; a target Gold Coast chased in just 7 overs.

On Sunday, 1st Grade women bowled Valley out for 188, with Uditi again leading the wickets with 3/32 off 10. Rebecca Duckworth scored 54*, and Lindsay Vilas Boas 59 off 41, to pass the target in the 42nd over.

2nd Grade posted 1/135 in their T20 at Bill Pippen Oval against Sandgate, with Linda Machin carrying her bat for 74* off just 53 balls. Solid bowling restricted the Gators to 4/67 (cc); Zoe Sherriff picking up 2/14.

Our BWC Women made it a perfect weekend for our women’s program, scoring 5/245 off their 35 overs, with Paris Barnes 53 off 44 the best. In response, Mira Waugh claimed 2 wickets as Western Suburbs were held to 5/121 (cc).

The Lord’s Taverners boys travelled to Wynnum and scored 8/246 after 50 overs, with captain Oliver Lum scoring 56 off 62 in a 95-runs stand with Mac Hawkins (47 off 68). The Sea Eagles’ batting was too strong for Gold Coast, though, passing the total in the 43rd over for the loss of 3 wickets.

Finally, in the BMC boys’ match against Wynnum, the hosts were dismissed for 98 inside 37 overs, with 4 Dolphins bowlers claiming 2 wickets each. In response, Gold Coast toiled, eventually sneaking home 9/101 in the 46th over for a 1-wicket victory
