And just like that… Edge Fitness turns 12! 🎉🎉
This birthday feels a little different. A little more emotional than the others.
I've had some time to sit and reflect lately, and I'll admit, today has brought a tear to my eye.
I left England at 22 years old, leaving behind everything and everyone I knew, to chase one simple dream… to open my own gym in Australia.
And somehow, in 2015 I actually did it. (The balls on that young lad 😂)
What gets me the most is that so many of the people who walked through those doors for that very first time 12 years ago are still walking through those same doors today.
These people have seen the highs, the lows, the struggles, the celebrations, and everything in between.
They've watched a young lad trying to give it a crack, to winning awards, to becoming a dad.
And somewhere along the way, what started as a dream to open a gym became something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
It's never really been about the four walls, the equipment or the workouts. It's always been about the people.
The friendships we've built, the laughs we've shared, the support we've given each other, and the community that's grown around this little gym over the last 12 years.
I genuinely don't think there are enough words to explain how grateful I am for the people who have been part of this journey.
To everyone who has walked through our doors, believed in what we're doing, supported us through the tough times, and helped shape Edge Fitness into what it is today… thank you.
And to those who have been here since the very beginning, you've probably played a bigger part in my life than you'll ever realise.
22 year old me left England chasing a dream, but I dont think he could of never imagined the life, the friendships and the family that dream would eventually give him along the way also.
But here we are 12 years later, still that same lad, just a little older, a little wiser, a lot more grey hair and a hell of a lot more to be thankful for.
Happy 12th birthday, Edge Fitness. 💛🖤🍻
