I want to start off by saying this feels extremely vulnerable for me to share but something I feel compelled to bring.

This year for me has been an absolute whirlwind. I want to take you back to December last year I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd baby, only to lose the little bean very shortly after finding out. In typical Britt fashion I carried on with life convincing myself I trust the process and that this little soul wasn’t ready to journey earthside yet. (I still believe this to be true) but this was my way of down playing my heartache.

I carried on with life, business, classes until I started to completely shutdown. Fight flight freeze is a familiar state for me but this felt like something bigger. I was refusing to slow down and allow my body, mind and soul to heal. I didn’t want to slow down because slowing down meant feeling this immense loss and pain. I wasn’t ready for that!

Until I was.

I decided to stop teaching my jungle body classes to heal but I tell you this was just the beginning of my greatest crumbling. I stopped moving my body, I stopped talking to people, I shut down completely. Getting out of bed most days felt like my biggest accomplishment.

I’ve battled with the darkest parts of my mind for most of my life. Mental health issues is something I have battled for a very long time. I have recently discovered I have ADHD, struggle with PMDD which causes suicidal ideation, severe anxiety & often depression during the luteal phase of my cycle every single month.

These conditions acerbate one another which makes it incredibly challenging. But what I now recognise is this.

The day you stop doing what you love is the day it’s game over! I’ve been sabotaging my soul. Dancing, movement has always been my soul’s medicine and as a form of self punishment I took this away from myself.

I’ve recently started taking myself through jungle body workouts and it honestly feels like the pieces that I’ve been missing are slowly but surely landing back in my body! I most definitely haven’t been in the mindset to take classes but I trust with a little time and healing I’ll gain the capacity to do so once more 🩷

Let's set the record straight babes, In the world of trending diets, carbohydrates often find themselves under fire.

The perception that carbs are 'bad' or 'fattening' is a misconception that needs debunking.

Let's set the record straight on this essential macronutrient.

Not All Carbs Are Created Equal

The trick is to distinguish between refined carbohydrates, like white bread and sugary snacks, and complex carbs like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. While refined carbs can spike your blood sugar, complex carbs release energy slowly, keeping you full and energized.

Key to a Balanced Diet
Carbohydrates are crucial for a well-rounded diet. They provide the fuel your body needs for physical activity and proper organ function. Instead of cutting them out, aim for balance.

Healthy Carb Snack Ideas:
1. Apple Slices and Almond Butter: A perfect blend of complex carbs, healthy fats, and protein.
2. Quinoa Salad: Packed with protein and fiber, a small quinoa salad can be both satisfying and delicious.
3. Sweet Potato Wedges: A better alternative to regular fries, they're rich in fiber and vitamin A.
4. Chia Seed Pudding: Made with almond milk, this snack is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
5. Oatmeal with Fresh Berries: Oats provide lasting energy, while berries offer a burst of antioxidants.

Magnesium: The Hero of WellnessWe often hear about the benefits of vitamins like C and D, but let's shine the spotlight on an often overlooked yet essential mineral: Magnesium.

~This powerhouse plays a critical role in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body, influencing everything from energy production to nerve function.

~Magnesium is vital for muscle contraction and relaxation, as well as nerve transmission. Ever experienced cramps or spasms? Your magnesium levels might be low.

~Magnesium is also crucial for calcium absorption, which is essential for maintaining strong bones and teeth. It's not just about calcium; magnesium is a very overlooked hero when it comes to bone health!

~ Studies suggest that magnesium can help regulate stress hormones, potentially serving as a natural mood lifter. Some even refer to it as "nature's chill pill."

~Magnesium helps maintain a healthy heart rhythm and is associated with lower blood pressure. It's a heart-friendly mineral worth taking seriously.

~Struggling with constipation? Magnesium can relax the muscles in the intestines, helping to establish a smoother rhythm for bowel movements.

A gentle reminder to always consult your healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your diet or supplement regimen.
