Dear Firefighters, Friends and Colleagues Around the World,
The World Firefighters Games Governing Body wishes to inform the global firefighting community that the 16th World Firefighters Games, originally scheduled to be hosted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from November 5–13, 2026, have been rescheduled and will now take place in November 2027.
This decision has been taken following careful consideration of the current situation and the intermittent travel and logistical disruptions affecting the Middle East.
Under the circumstances, rescheduling the Games is considered the appropriate and responsible course of action. This decision reflects the importance we place on the safety, security and travel arrangements of our international participants, while protecting our shared ambition to deliver a world-class World Firefighters Games that celebrates and showcases firefighting excellence.
For competitors and family members who have already registered and paid for the 2026 Games, your existing registration and registration fees will automatically be carried forward to the 2027 Games. No further action is required at this time to retain your registration.
The World Firefighters Games Governing Body remains fully committed to the successful delivery of the 16th World Firefighters Games in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in November 2027.
We would like to thank the entire World Firefighters Games community — including national and international firefighter associations, sports federations, partners, sponsors, firefighter athletes and their families — for their continued support, patience and understanding.
Further information regarding the Games, revised schedule, and participant arrangements will be communicated in due course through the appropriate official channels.
We look forward to welcoming firefighters and their families from around the world to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in November 2027 for the 16th World Firefighters Games.
