Our Mystic community has recently raised $7,404 for breast cancer and another $4,647 through the Men’s Blue prostate cancer fundraiser—that’s $12,051 across two brilliant community events. 💗💙

Those numbers belong to everyone who played, donated, volunteered, bought tickets and helped turn a good day out into genuine impact. Thank you, Legends.

Thursday has rolled into Mystic—golf by day, Barefoot Bowls by night and apparently another episode of Facebook Community Correspondents has dropped. 😂

The cockatoo—very social, extremely loud and absolutely convinced everyone within five kilometres needs to hear its opinion. 😂

“The loudest few don’t automatically become the majority.”

😂 GOLF JOKE OF THE DAY
I asked why my golf ball keeps disappearing.

Apparently it’s also trying to distance itself from my swing. 😂⛳

🏠 CLUBHOUSE & COMMUNITY
Mystic will close from 1:00pm until 3:00pm today for our all-team meeting.

Then tonight, Barefoot Bowls takes over! 🎳🍻 Bring your mates, kick off the shoes and have a crack. Experience is optional, enthusiasm is encouraged and accuracy remains completely negotiable. 😂 And yes—the Facebook dribblers continue with the suggestion that they somehow speak for the “whole community”.

Let’s put a little perspective around that.

The Fishing Club?
The Lions Club?
The Men’s Shed?
The Golf Club?
The school we provide our bus to free of charge?
The people who supported our breast cancer fundraiser?
The people who supported our prostate cancer fundraiser?
The local groups, members, visitors and families who continue supporting Mystic week after week?

Apparently none of them count as “the community”. And the list goes on.

People are absolutely entitled to dislike us, disagree with us and choose to go somewhere else. That’s life. But continually suggesting a small group speaks for the “whole community” is becoming a bloody bad joke.

And here’s another interesting bit.

This little bowls group now proudly talks about travelling around looking for somewhere to play. We’re also told that after only a short stint at Ingham, one of the same individuals excluded from Mystic was also told they were no longer welcome there.

GOLD. 😂

So by the Facebook logic, does that now mean Ingham Bowls Club “doesn’t support its whole community” because it made a decision about one person’s behaviour?

Of course not. It means clubs and venues have standards, and sometimes individuals cross the line. That is not attacking a community—it is managing a venue.

Meanwhile, we’ll keep doing what we said we would do—supporting local groups, raising money for important causes, helping where we can and putting money and effort back into this facility and the wider community. The club has never looked better, it has never traded better and we’ve got some seriously exciting things planned for what comes next.

So perhaps it’s time to cut the Facebook dribble, get on with life and let everyone enjoy whichever club, pub, bowls green or community group makes them happy.

We certainly will. 👊

⛳ MEN’S BLUE DAY — LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PROSTATE ⛳💙Morning Legends!
Today at Mystic it’s not really about the Bushrangers. Today is about something much bigger — our Men’s Blue prostate cancer fundraiser. 💙 We’re raising awareness, raising a few dollars and hopefully getting a few blokes talking about something most would happily avoid discussing for another 20 years. 😂
So wear BLUE, bring your mates, support the fundraiser and let’s make today count. 💙

A bloke went to the doctor for his prostate check. Doctor says, “Try to relax, this will only take a moment.”
Bloke says, “Easy for you to say — you’re not the one trying to work out whether we’re still mates after this.” 😂😂
And fellas, if getting checked sounds uncomfortable, remember: You’ve spent four hours looking for a $4 golf ball in snake country. You can handle an awkward couple of minutes at the doctor. 😂💙
And one final piece of Mystic medical advice: If your golf mates tell you to bend over and cough, you are absolutely at the wrong clinic. 😂😂😂
