Olivia Gard - From Mickey Mouse to Disney: A Dream Comes Full Circle ✨✨

Olivia's dance journey has come full circle - from performing to Mickey Mouse at her very first concert to becoming a professional Disney Cruise Line dancer 20 years later. Having grown up in the studio from the age of one, Liv was surrounded by dance, creativity and a community that became like family. From her earliest classes and Mickey Mouse-themed first concert to teaching, choreographing and performing on major stages, PSD gave her the space to develop not only as a dancer but as a person.

As we celebrate 65 Years of Dance – Celebrating Our Legacy. Inspiring Our Future., we're proud to share the stories of the families who have helped make Peninsula School of Dance what it is today.

"For me and so many other people, this dance school is so much more than just doing a dance class. It is genuinely family and a community. It’s a place to form lifelong friendships and a place to feel safe.

I’ll be away for nine months, which is a long time but I’ll come home to what I left. People change but, coming back to the studio, I know I’ll be coming home to family. I’ll walk into the studio and people will be there with big open arms saying ‘Welcome back, Miss Liv’."

"I owe everything to Mum and everyone at the dance school. Genuinely, my mum is a super woman. I see how hard she works. I am so proud of her and I love her so much."

What Does PSD Mean To You? ✨

Sharlene Harvey, a PSD student and alumna, described it beautifully: “PSD encompasses such a wonderful sense of community and offers a safe environment for all.”

And for PSD alumnus Jason Coleman, it was simply: “It was my school, my club, my friends. It was my happy place.”

We know that everyone has their own PSD story.

So, as part of our 65th Anniversary Gala, we are creating a special wall of messages to celebrate the people and memories that have shaped our school.

We would love you to add yours. It could be a favourite memory, a person who made a difference, a friendship that began here, or simply a few words about what PSD means to you today.

Your message may be featured on our wall of messages at the 65th Anniversary Gala!

Independence Starts Here! ✨

We love seeing young dancers take responsibility for their grooming and uniform. Learning to do your own hair and preparing for class is all part of the journey. Not quite there yet? Keep practising, you'll get it!

If you need uniform items, we have them available at the studio. Let's set you up for success.
