Time to make yourselves heard!

We’ve had several of our NSW members get in touch to say Permit To Acquire processing times there are now over three months – which is completely unacceptable.

There is not acceptable reason whatsoever for PTA processing to take months, and especially not when considering everyone applying for a PTA already has a gun licence, and most of them likely already own a firearm too.

If you’re in NSW and have been waiting months for a PTA, there is something very important you need to do:

E-mail (or better yet, make an appointment to see) both your NSW state-level MPs – both your Lower House AND Upper House representatives - and demand politely but firmly that they sort this situation out immediately.

Even if you know your MP is anti-gun, or not likely to help – CONTACT THEM ANYWAY.

Politicians pay attention to how many people contact them about issues, and even if they personally disagree with a constituent about the matter, the contact is still a data point which is analysed and considered by the party overall.

Remember: Be civil and respectful! Abuse or ranting will just get your communication binned, and does nothing to help the cause.

Please let us know what response you get from your MP – regardless of whether it’s a personalised response, a form letter, or nothing at all.
