Huge congratulations once again to the Greening Rosewater Loop, and Rail Care SA Rosewater Loop volunteers, who have taken out the 2026 Green Adelaide Urban Landcare Award at the 2026 State Landcare Conference held on 16 & 17 October. After juggling a few projects at once for the last month, I’m so happy to have wrapped up my latest mural at Rosewater Loop today! A big thank you to the students from Pennington Primary for being part of this collaborative project and to Railcare for their support of this project. It’s been epic!

GRL invited community members to join them on the Loop on 10th October as part of the Nature Festival 2026.

More than 30 people attended and joined in activities including chalk drawings of seeds and leaves on the pathway, making seed bombs of local species to take home, as well as, sharing ideas for the next Stage of the Loop. The afternoon included a tour of the community garden at the Gillman yards with an AUSLAN interpreter.

In the past two months, over 20 plants strategically planted in winter to give them an opportunity to root deeply, have been taken from the Rosewater Loop between Leader Street & Eastbourne Terrace. This is extremely disappointing as these plants have been grown, sourced or purchased and planted & cared for by local people who are committed to greening the Rosewater Loop and creating a safe community space.

These photos taken during a walk from the Russell Street end of the Rosewater Loop, under the GJ Road tunnel down to the aviation museum & then east along the pathway that joins up with the new pathway, along the south side of the Gillman Marshalling Yards!

Well the Neptune Terrace & Henry Street crossing is open and it appears SA Water are finishing up whatever work they have been doing there for many months! Now for the track itself, hoping to hear an update from SA Infrastructure and Transport very soon.

Thanks to the team from City of Port Adelaide Enfield for looking after the new Campbell Avenue Reserve with regular mowing, w**d management and more recently planting another 14 trees! It’s looking fantastic.
