We are excited to announce that Redcliffe will host the upcoming 2026 OHF Under 21 Junior World Cup Qualifier from 28th September to 4th October 2026, bringing elite junior international hockey to City of Moreton Bay.

Delivered in partnership with Redcliffe Hockey Club and City of Moreton Bay, the tournament will feature leading junior national teams from across the Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand. Teams will compete in an 11-a-side format for qualification to the FIH Junior World Cup, showcasing the next generation of international hockey talent.

Yesterday the Qld and ACT teams held a minutes silence before the start of the game for Ian “Tex” Harcla.

The Hockey Australia Masters Committee are calling for applications for the following positions:

Assistant Coaches – All Australian Teams

Head Coaches (Including Playing Coaches) – IMC Teams

Managers – Australian Women’s Teams and All IMC Teams

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the roles above.

Previous coaching applicants need not reapply unless they wish to change any preferences previously communicated. Australian Team Head Coaching appointments will be communicated prior to the commencement of the National Titles.

Previous applicants for team management roles need not reapply as all applications are still being considered and will be communicated upon the completion of this process.

2026 AUSTRALIAN WORLD CUP TEAMS ANNOUNCEMENTS (excluding shadow players and Australia 2 IMC teams)

The Hockey Australia Masters Committee would like to announce that the 2026 Australian World Cup teams which are being selected at this year's National Championships for men and women will be announced at each tournament's age group medal ceremonies.

The Australian teams for each age group (excluding shadow players and Australia 2 IMC teams) will be announced on Saturday 4th October (women), Sunday 5th October (35s to 55s men) and Saturday 11th October (60s, 65s, 70s, 75s and 80s men) at the conclusion of each age group's medal ceremony presentations.

All selected players, coaches and managers will be called onto the turf during the Closing Ceremony.

The announcement of shadow players for the Australian teams as well as Australia 2 IMC teams and shadows will be announced on our website within one week of the end of each tournament.

A reminder that nominations for selection close on 21st September. Please note: no late nominations will be accepted.
