Day 4 of Women’s Health Week: To Breathe 🧘‍♀️✨

Today also marks R U OK? Day.
Asking this simple question can spark a conversation that saves a life—starting with how we check in on ourselves, too.

We get so caught up in the daily hustle and taking care of everyone else that we forget to pause and truly assess how we are feeling. From hormonal shifts to caregiving and daily stress, carving out time for emotional balance is vital, even when it feels hard to do.

Here are 4 gentle ways to prioritize your mind today:
1️⃣ Take a Micro-Rest: Step away for 2 minutes of deep, intentional breathing.
2️⃣ Set a Gentle Boundary: Say “no” to extra demands to protect your energy.
3️⃣ Nourish the Gut-Brain Connection: Mindful eating directly influences your mood and stress levels.
4️⃣ Reach Out: You don’t have to carry everything alone—reach out to a trusted friend, loved one, or professional.

Take a deep breath in, hold, and let it go.

Busy seasons don’t mean health takes a back seat—it just means we adapt.

10 minutes of movement isn’t about burning calories; it’s about clearing mental clutter and honoring your body when time is tight.

Consistency over perfection, always.

Save this as a reminder for the next time your calendar feels completely full.

It’s Women’s Health Week, and if there’s three words I’m holding close right now—it’s DO IT ANYWAY.

Most days, squeezing in a workout or taking care of yourself feels like an absolute mission. Your schedule is packed, you’re running on low energy, and the conditions are never perfect.

It’s so easy to talk yourself out of it. But those tiny steps? A 10-minute walk, actually stopping to drink a full glass of water, squeezing in your workout with kids in tow, or sipping a cuppa in peace… do it anyway. I promise you, it all adds up.

Today’s focus is on fuel. How many times have you spent the whole day making sure your kids and family have eaten, only to hit 7 PM realizing you’ve lived on crusts of toast and barely eaten a proper meal yourself?
We can’t keep running on empty, especially when life is full-on. You need real food, real nourishment, and real energy too.

All week long, we’re moving through the daily themes: fuelling, movement, rest, mental wellbeing, and connection.

It’s 3 PM… as you’re making after-school snacks, take a second to reflect on your day so far: have you fed yourself?

Save this post and come with us for the week ❤️

Australia just updated its 24-Hour Movement Guidelines, and the message is clear: move more, sit less, and prioritize rest! 🇦🇺

Here’s what a balanced 24 hours looks like under the new guidance:

🏃‍♂️ Move: Aim for 2.5–5 hours of moderate (or 1.25–2.5 hours of vigorous) activity each week. Don’t forget 2+ days of muscle-strengthening work!
🚶‍♀️ Step: Aim for 7,000+ steps per day to keep everyday movement high.
🪑 Sit Less: Break up long periods of sitting throughout your day. Every bit of light movement counts!
😴 Sleep: Prioritize 7–9 hours of quality, consistent sleep each night.

Health isn’t just about one workout—it’s about how you spend your whole day.

How are you getting your movement in today? 👇

Huge appreciation post for one of my true OGs, Mel 🫶 (Mell Millgate )

Mel joined us for park sessions in March 2024 and has been a staple in our community ever since. Show up, work hard, repeat—she barely ever misses a session! 💪
Consistency like that isn’t easy, so I asked her to share how she stays disciplined on the days motivation just isn’t there.

In Mel’s own words:

‘For me, getting through winter is mostly about taking the decision out of it. I book my three sessions a week a month in advance and put them straight in my calendar, so Future Mell has already decided I am going.

What keeps me turning up is knowing what consistency has made possible. I am stronger, fitter, healthier and happier than I was two years ago. I can deadlift almost my own body weight, get up from the floor easily and I can even run now, which still feels slightly ridiculous given I could not do it at all before.

Some winter mornings the warm house makes a very convincing argument, but I know I will always feel better for turning up’

Thank you Mel! You’re absolute proof of what showing up consistently can do. 💪✨
