Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll practise safety systems, step-by-step self-rescue techniques, kite sailing and deep-water pack-down procedures.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider looking to refresh your skills, this workshop will help you stay calm, confident and prepared when things don’t go to plan.

Be honest… If something went wrong out on the water, would you know exactly what to do?

Most kiters know how to activate their quick release, but self-rescue is SO much more than that!

At WA SURF, we believe being a confident rider isn’t just about landing tricks, jumping higher or riding upwind. It’s also about knowing how to keep yourself and others safe on the water.

That’s why we’re launching our WA SURF ACADEMY – SELF-RESCUE WORKSHOP! 💙

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
• Understanding your kite’s safety systems
• Step-by-step self-rescue techniques
• Using your kite as a sail to get back to shore
• Deep-water pack-down techniques
• Staying calm, confident and in control when things don’t go to plan

This isn’t just theory. We’re getting practical and making sure you know what to do when it really matters!

Ride Australia’s premier flat water kite spot and work in one of the safest and easiest teaching locations in Australia.

If you are a kiter, you’ve probably heard of Safety Bay, Western Australia. Flatwater riding in a consistent 18-22knot sea breeze is the norm here.

At WA SURF, we are always on the lookout for high qualified instructors who want to bring their A game. There are some things we demand from all of our staff members, regardless of their position. These include an absolute stoke for kitesurfing as well as a level of professionalism far beyond what has become the norm in this industry.

MEET THE FREMANTLE DOCTOR 💙

Ever wondered why Safety Bay gets such consistent summer wind?

Meet our favourite doctor, the Fremantle Doctor which kicks in pretty much every summer afternoon.

The Fremantle Doctor is WA’s famous sea breeze. As the land heats up during the day, cooler air from the Indian Ocean moves inland, creating the strong and reliable south-westerly winds that Perth’s coastline is known for.

WHY IS IT SO GOOD FOR KITESURFING?

During summer, the breeze usually starts building around late morning and strengthens through the afternoon, giving us hours of kiteable wind.

There’s a reason Safety Bay has become one of WA’s iconic kite spots.
