ππ€π SENIOR MEN'S MATCH REPORTS ππ€π
Yesterday we began our journey into a brand-new world by entering the Adelaide & Suburban Cricket Association for the very first time.
And we could have not expected a better result on the day by bringing home four wins out of four for the day, despite a couple of close calls and eventually initiating calls for the club to put a keg on. (Which we would have done if we had b**r on tap!) Thanks to Kristy and Amanda for supplying afternoon tea for the players and supporters and I must say that selling b**rs at the canteen proved a real winner, especially for the Creek clan and the Smiths of this world. And to have one of our all-time greats in Justin Davies pop in later to say hello to the boys warmed up everybody's heart.

Home against the ICC Sharks and batting first we couldn't shake off the cobwebs by falling to 7 for 89 before a rescue mission came in the form of the two "yoots" in Cooper Smith (37 not out) and Nathan Walker (38 not out) who added an unbeaten partnership of 76 runs that got us to a respectable 7 for 165. Sharks however began by calmly working their way to a nice position at 1/72 at the half-way stage until "The Master" Willi Sewell weaved his magic in a match-winning spell of 3/23 to swing the balance back on even terms. Backed up by the wily ol' fox Nick Kershaw who kept things honest at the other end, the writing was on the wall once Willi claimed "Catch of the Season" honours with a running one-handed pearler at mid-wicket. Sharks eventually lost their way and fell 39 runs short of the target.

Made the trek out to Marion Primary School, although Les almost found himself at Victor Harbor, as we faced the Southern Warriors first up. Sent into bat first we eventually made 171 all out with Paul Zadolinnyj (48), Travis Perris (29) and Jimmy Buttle (29) the best of the batters with Kalib Drayton (17) and Ethan Perris (15) also chipping in. The Warriors looked like getting on top at 1/61 but a stream of wickets with Kalib Drayton, Brad Taylor, Jimmy Buttle and Zads each picking up a couple left the home side too much to do in the end and fell short by eleven runs. We welcomed two new Tigers to our den in Mohammad Nawaz and Brad Taylor who proudly wore our club colours for the first time.

Hosted Western Youth Centre who had a plethora of left-arm in-swing bowlers to cause us a bit of trouble when we batted but Nathan Rundle (39), Matty George (28) and Jack Hanson (33) made the most of their time at the crease that snuck us up to 8/178 when time was called. Clinton Medcraft (Clunk) made a welcome return to the game with an encouraging start with 15. In reply the Youth Centre were completely outgunned by Ryley Oxenham whose accurate bowling earned him the figures of 5/7 and blasted the opposition out for 76. Matty George with two scalps completed a fine all-round game, and folks, keep your eye on the progress of a young kid by the name of Mansoor Zazai, who looked classy with the bat and bowled with a fair bit of heat with the new rock.

Completed the "Fourtrella" by rounding out a comfortable win over Sheidow Park out at Hallet Cove. The home side could only manage 90 batting first with Liam Petric, in his first senior outing for Salisbury West, returning the best figures of 3/22, and Johnny "Boom Boom" Washington finishing with tidy figures of 1/8 from his 8 overs. In reply, the old devils Adrian Waterhouse and Richard Bond (15) got us on our way and when the silky-smooth Neil Graham arrived at the crease, it was a case of "put down your glasses" as he rode us home with 48 not out taking young Jacob Smith (11 not out) along with him to our victory. With the winning skipper Oxy an unlikely starter next round, all the pressure will be on the stand-in skipper Browny to stick to a winning formula. Thanks to Renae for filling in at the last moment and get well soon Blondie, we missed your presence around the place.
