Last night I was completed surprised by my advanced class.
I’m not often rattled but in this instance I was dumbfounded. I never really accept gifts from students however this I couldnt deny. Knowing my affinity for knife collecting and hunting deer my students presented me with a ‘kogatana’ which is a small, utility knife blade. It was often tucked into a pocket on the side of a Samurais scabbard. People used it for everyday cutting tasks, carving wood, cutting meat and rope, It was known to be used in combat in a pinch this blade is 400 years old. I was also gifted an equally old scroll embellished with two Sika deer.
Again I was fu***ng blown away.
Thank you.
Thank you.
