Why do we gather to celebrate the life of someone?
As a community, we try to honour those who have left an impression on us, mentored us, guided or inspired us. We support those who have suffered a loss, and we celebrate the time and lessons we learnt from the association with someone who is no longer physically with us, so as to ensure we carry on his legacy.
We from the Samford Masters will be there. The family have generously invited you to be there too. Details are:

You may have heard by now of the passing of Eric Lilley- AKA The Silver Fox. Eric was an intergral part of the Samford Masters getting off the ground. He was an inspirational man, not only for his league prowess, but for his gentlemanly characteristics off the field. He mentored, chided and encouraged many of us to be better men, both for our families and our rugby league community. Whilst we mourn his passing, we are grateful to Eric, and to his family, for lending his wisdom, humour and presence to all at the Samford Masters and the Stags rugby League club. We will raise a glass for you good sir every year on the first night at Fraser and try not to make too much noise as you try to get some sleep! Rest in Peace! Your Brothers from the Paddock.

Thanks to all for coming to the end of season bash. In true Masters fashion, the kids had a great time, Ivesey swept the prize pool and Doc got the Cupcake prize!!! The food from Swagmans Spit Roast was amazing. Hope to see you all again at training for Fraser Island.
