🦁🏏 A HUGE THANK YOU! 💙🖤

Waraba Cricket Club would like to say a massive thank you to the Sandstone Point Lions Club for their incredibly generous $500 donation towards our Junior Cricket Program!

We were lucky enough to have Wendy, President of the Lions Club of Sandstone Point, along with their Secretary Rill, join us this afternoon for a photo and to officially present the donation.

The $500 donation has gone directly towards new training equipment for our juniors, helping us provide them with the gear they need to train, develop their skills and enjoy their cricket. 🏏🔥

Support like this goes a long way in helping us continue to grow junior cricket in our local community and give more kids the opportunity to get involved in the game we love. 🏏

We’re extremely grateful to have fantastic community organisations like the Lions Club of Sandstone Point getting behind our juniors.

With the 2026 Winter season officially wrapped up, it’s time to recognise the players who delivered consistently across the campaign — introducing our Waraba Team of the Season! 🏏🔥

Across four teams, plenty of players produced outstanding individual performances, but these 11 stood out through their contributions with bat, ball or both across the season.

🔥 WANT TO HELP DEVELOP THE NEXT GENERATION OF BURNERS? 🏏

We’re hosting a Junior Silver Coaching Course right here at Pebble Beach Sports Grounds, and we’d love to get a few more people from within our club qualified!

📅 Saturday 19 September
⏰ 9:30am–12:00pm
📍 Pebble Beach Sports Grounds
💰 Course fee: $47 — covered by the club

This opportunity is open to parents of our junior players and current Burners senior players who are interested in developing their coaching knowledge.

Getting qualified doesn’t mean you have to become a team coach. Having more people around the club with the knowledge and skills to assist our team coaches, support our Club Coach Dave McKay and help our juniors develop will be a huge benefit as our junior program continues to grow.

Maybe coaching is something you’d consider in the future, or perhaps you’d simply like to be able to jump in at training and lend a hand — we’d love to have you involved.

🔥 The club will reimburse the full cost of the coaching certificate for parents of our juniors and current senior players.

🏏 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 WINTER SEASON! 💙💛

What a season it has been for Waraba Cricket Club!

A huge thank you to every player, volunteer, committee member, parent, supporter and sponsor who helped make the 2026 winter season such a success. Your time, effort and support throughout the season means more than you know.

We finished the season with a fantastic Presentation Night at Burpengary Community Club, celebrating the achievements, growth and commitment of our players. It was a wonderful night filled with plenty of laughs, proud moments, awards and memories that we’ll carry into the next season. 🏆👏

Most importantly, we hope every player walks away from this season feeling proud of how far they’ve come — whether it was their first season, their first wicket, first big score, a new friendship or simply turning up each week and giving it their best.

🔥 AGM NOMINATIONS ARE IN – BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP! 🏏

Thank you to everyone who has put their hand up to help lead the Burners in 2026/27. We’ve received nominations across a number of key positions, but there are still some important roles we’d love to fill.

In particular, we’re looking for people who can help in two areas:

🏏 Junior Coordinator – With our junior program continuing to grow, we need someone who can help support our junior players, parents, coaches and teams throughout the season. You don’t need years of cricket or committee experience — just a willingness to get involved and help create a great experience for our kids.

🙌 General Committee – We have two positions available and would particularly love people interested in helping with the practical side of the club: organising events, presentation days, fundraisers, social activities and other club initiatives. Many hands make light work!

You don’t have to take on everything. The goal is to build a bigger team of people who can each contribute where they can.

No further nominations were received prior to the deadline, so nominations for these positions will be called from the floor at our AGM.
