The University of Tasmania Cricket Club would like to extend our thoughts, prayers and support to the people of Nepal and everyone affected by the devastating events unfolding there.

Through cricket, our club has developed a close association with the Tasmanian Nepalese community, including the Tasmanian Nepalese Cricket Association and Gurkha Legends, and many members of our own club have strong connections to Nepal.

At this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts are especially with our Nepalese players, their families and friends, and the wider Tasmanian Nepalese community who may be worried about loved ones back home.

It’s a good opportunity to become more involved with the club, get to know more of our members and families, and help make the season better for everyone involved.

🏏 2026/27 Under 18 CTPL Coaching Announcement 🏏

The University of Tasmania Cricket Club is pleased to announce Krystian Jankowiak as our Under 18 CTPL coach for the 2026/27 season.

Unfortunately, due to injury, Krystian will be unable to take the field for the club this season. However, while he focuses on his recovery, he has committed to the Under 18 coaching role and will be closely involved with the group throughout the season, both at training and on match days.

Krystian has been part of UTAS Cricket Club for many years, having started in our junior program before progressing through the underage pathway and into senior cricket. He has since established himself as a regular member of our 1st Grade side over recent seasons.

Krystian brings plenty of enthusiasm, commitment and passion to the role, and takes great pride in his involvement with the club. He is looking forward to working with our Under 18 group this season and continuing to build on the strong on-field success the side has enjoyed over the past several years.

We’re looking forward to seeing Krystian take on the role and help guide the next generation of UTAS cricketers.

The University of Tasmania Cricket Club is delighted to announce our Senior Men's CTPL coaching team for the 2026/27 season.

- Skills Coach: Andrew Kealy
- High Performance Manager: Ben Harrison

We're thrilled to welcome Clayton Braddick back to the club as Assistant Coach.

Clayton returns bringing his extensive CTPL experience and coaching craft that he has developed over the past three seasons as Head Coach of Woodbridge Cricket Club. He will play a key role in supporting the development of our 2nd and 3rd Grade players, helping them continue to develop their game, as well as supporting the overall delivery of Men’s program, selection process & communications.

After success in recent seasons across the club, we're also pleased to have Ben Hilfenhaus continuing as Head Coach, with Andrew Kealy providing his wealth of cricket knowledge as Skills Coach. Ben Harrison also returns this season as High Performance Manager, continuing to provide outstanding off-field support to both our coaches and players through ongoing development and organisation of our cricket program.

As we look ahead to a new season, we'd also like to thank two coaches who have made significant contributions to our club.

🏏 Damien Wright has been an integral part of UTCC since joining the coaching group in 2018, helping guide a successful period in the club's history. Wrighty has done it all since joining the club (including his First Grade debut in 2019), and recently he has played a pivotal role in mentoring the future talent of the club across the Under 18s and senior program. We congratulate Wrighty on his appointment as Tasmanian Tigers Bowling Coach and wish him every success in the role.

🏏 We also thank Ruwantha "Ruwy" Kellapotha, who returns to Victoria after an outstanding season with the club. Ruwy made a tremendous impact both as a player and coach, culminating in a well-deserved Emerson Rodwell Medal. We thank him for everything he contributed and wish him all the very best for the future.

🏏 UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA CRICKET CLUB - PRE-SEASON 2026/27 🏏

The journey towards the 2026/27 CTPL Premier League season officially begins on Monday 3 August, 2026 and we encourage all players to make a strong commitment from the outset as we lay the foundations for the season ahead.

First Session: Monday 3 August
🕡 Time: 6:15pm – 7:45pm
📍 Venue: The Cricket Hub, Kingston View Drive, Kingston

Each 90-minute session will be specifically designed to maximise skill development, technical improvement and game readiness.

As we begin preparations for another Premier League campaign across the three senior grades, consistent attendance and quality preparation will be key factors in individual improvement and team success. Every session is an opportunity to develop your game, strengthen our culture and earn the confidence of your teammates and coaches.

We look forward to seeing a strong turnout as we commence what promises to be an exciting and rewarding pre-season.

🏏 2026/27 UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA CRICKET CLUB COMMITTEE 📝
Following our AGM on Wednesday night, we are pleased to announce the Univresity of Tasmania Cricket Club Committee for the 2026/27 season.

We would like to sincerely thank outgoing committee members Keaton Loxley & Mikala Whiting alongside coaches Damien Wright & Ruwantha Kellapotha for their dedication and contribution over recent seasons.

We also extend a warm welcome to our newly elected committee members Georgia Nesbitt and Owen Swain.

Over the past financial year, the club celebrated another successful season, including a First Grade T20 Premiership and improved performances across Second and Third Grade. Two Life Memberships were awarded to Ben Harrison and Charles Rose in recognition of their outstanding service to the club.

The University Cricket Club committee looks forward to all returning players, members and supporters to the 2026/27 season.
