As the 2026 international season draws to a close, the latest World Sailing Rankings underline the strength and depth of the British ILCA fleet 🇬🇧

In the ILCA7, three British sailors sit inside the world’s top six, with Elliot Hanson 2️⃣, Micky Beckett 3️⃣ and Finley Dickinson 6️⃣. In total, 14 GBR sailors feature inside the world top 200.

There’s plenty to celebrate in the ILCA6 too. Matilda Nicholls sits at 4️⃣ in the world, with Daisy Collingridge at 🔟, giving GBR two sailors inside the top ten and 10 British sailors inside the world top 250.

Rankings are only a snapshot, but they’re a great reflection of the depth of British talent competing internationally and the work being put in across the fleet. With another season almost complete, attention will soon turn to the winter: time to reset, develop and build towards 2027.

ILCA have really upped their game with their event media in Dún Laoghaire at the ILCA7 and ILCA6 World Championships. It’s been great to see them follow the example of EurILCA and some of the national ILCA associations. They have generously shared fantastic images and videos from both ashore and afloat. The response from the viewing public is tangible and significant. It is great to be able to share good quality images of the top sailors on the Worlds stage.

ILCA6 World Championships, Day 4.
Described by the sailors in their post-race interviews as “snakes & ladders”, “lottery”, “better to be lucky than good”, “crazy difficult”.
With such wacky racing, the championship is far from over, 2 more races today, then the scores are halved before two medal races for the top 10.

Day 2 of the ILCA6 Women’s World Championships in Dún Laoghaire was a wet and wild one. Two races were held and the Preliminary Series now moves into the Qualifying Series for Gold and Silver Fleets.

The ILCA6 Women’s World Championships start tomorrow in Dublin Bay. Six GBR ILCA6 sailors will be competing.

During the past week, the charter boats in Dún Laoghaire have transitioned from ILCA7s to ILCA6 and the women have been able to practice in Dublin Bay during the day and enjoy the craic of Irish hospitality in the evenings - Hannah even joined in the folk music scene 🎶
