Wrest Point Sandy Bay Regatta

The Sandy Bay Regatta was everything we hoped for — sunshine, a buzzing foreshore, packed river action and thousands of people coming together to enjoy one of Hobart’s most loved traditions.

From dragon boats, sailing and the Tassal Ocean Swim on the Derwent, to live music, tug-o-war, competitions and plenty of smiles on shore, the day was a celebration of community in every sense.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, partners and sponsors — especially our naming rights partner Wrest Point — as well as the City of Hobart, clubs, performers and everyone who helped bring the Regatta to life. Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so special.

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year 💙

This Saturday we have a fantastic line up of food trucks! 🍔🍦☕

The Junior Miss Regatta Girl and Best Dressed Aussie competitions are all about confidence, fun and a little bit of excitement - with plenty of smiles and cheering along the way! 🕺🏼💃🏼

It’s a small moment that becomes a big memory plus there are a huge line up of great prizes to be won! 🎁

The Tassal Ocean Swim is one of the highlight water events of the day - and everyone’s invited!

Whether you’re part of a nippers club team or an adult keen to test the waters, there’s a 500 m swim waiting for you at Long Beach.

Come down, register on the day at the information tent and join us for a swim you won’t forget! 🏊‍♂️

For the kids, the Regatta is pure magic. ✨
Face painting, crazy bikes, scavenger hunts, games, rides and plenty of room to run.

It’s the kind of day where shoes get kicked off, faces are sticky from ice cream and no one wants to leave when it’s over.
