Anzac Day handicap Start race - the third and Final Heat of the Lorain York Handicap series. A fleet of just six MG14s took to the water in a light - moderate N/E breeze. Barra had the honour of starting as scratch boat three minutes behind Ruby on Venturi whose stated main aim was to beat her sister Ava steering Hold Fast for the first time and starting 11 minutes ahead of her. Right out front off 25 minutes were Incorrigible (also with Nick steering for the first time) and Struth, with Su***de Blonde a minute behind them.
The first windward into a solid run-in tide made for a long first work. Visiting skiffs St George skiffs both helped out by locating the sand bars. Barra opted for the Sans Souci shore and looked like overtaking Venturi on the first beat and almost passed Incorrigible before the top mark. Venturi managed to pull away from Barra on the downwinds only to lose the gains on the upwinds but they both got past the rest of the fleet by the finish. So yes Ruby got to beat her sister, and Incorrigible finished the race.
A perfect day on the water and a great way to finish the season.
1. Venturi 2. Barra 3. Struth
Thanks to the Club and all the volunteers for a great season.
Thanks St George 16s for the excellent photos.
See you all at Presentation Night 16 May.

Race report for Pointscore Race 22 and Championship Race 7
Last Point Score race and Club Championship heat
From Greg on Su***de Blonde - winners on Handicap despite skipper Mac being 11 years old and a tough adjusted handicap (because the same team just won the NSW State Champs at cronulla)
6 starters and 5 finishers
So, with the media doom and gloom about the weather to the lead up to Saturday, we hit the water on time to start on a southerly course in 20–25 knots - unfortunately, with only 6 starters. A good 1st work with a tight fleet saw Sea Breeze 1st around Woolooware mark, spinnakers set for a hang-on ride to Ida St, where the lead changed to Venturi, who showed their superior speed to lead around all marks and comfortably win the race.
SRC: 1st Venturi (Ruby Smith), 2nd Su***de Blonde, 3rd Pegasus.
HCP: 1st Su***de Blonde (Mac Darlington, skipper), 2nd Chasing the Black Dog, 3rd Venturi.
Final Season Point Score results: 1st Barra (Neil Tasker), 2nd Venturi, 3rd Tempest.
Final Club Championship results: 1st Venturi, 2nd Pegasus, 3rd Sea Breeze.
An impressive and 1st time ever with 3 females winning the major prizes for the STGSC
25–26 season:
 Ruby Smith — Club Champion MG14s
 Sarah Lee — Club Champion 16ft Skiffs
 Yvette Heritage — former MG14 sailor; Point Score winner (16ft skiff)
Thanks to the Club for a fantastic celebration for the last race of the season / club championship heat, in the new-look sailors’ bar. Also, thanks to the volunteers for a wonderful season. Have a good Easter everyone, and enjoy the ANZAC Day race to finish
off the 25–26 season.

Scratch and Handicap Results for the Final MG14 Club Championship and Handicap Pointscore race race of the season yesterday. The Southerly was fresh enough to put off a few old salts and the Skate fleet. Perfect conditions for Gary and Ross on Pegasus who needed a win to sn**ch the Club Championship. Unfortunately Pegasus managed to get tangled around a sailboard in the starting sequence and then later snagged a large wooden object which required Ross to steer for a full minute! Jack and Rainy got to lead around the top mark the first time in Sea Breeze, but it was a bit fresh with lightweight less experienced crew.
Barra didn't even need to finish to secure the Handicap Pointscore win and after twice swimming and getting the jib firmly wrapped around the forestay the same number of times Neil and Jack elected to retire rather than capsise a third time to sort it out. Mac and Greg, our newly minted NSW state champions took Su***de Blonde to new heights sailing a bit more conservatively to finish second. Bro and Tayla on ' The ' Dog hit some great speeds (unrecorded) and were the only MG to keep their mast dry.
Meanwhile Venturi had slid to the front and despite a swim in both of the first two downwind legs, they stayed away for another win to cement their first Club Championship win in Ruby's first season steering. Link to all the season results in the comments.

Results for pointscore races 20 and 21 and season handicap pointscore with 1 poinscore race remaining.
Race 20 saw Greg Junk and Rainy take their first win of the season as skipper and crew on Sea Breeze, while Rod and Anna on Su***de Blonde got the Handicap win.
Also Venturi got Barra on the line to win the Little and Brown Shield knockout Competition.
In the Second race Barra took the scratch win, almost certainly doing enough to seal up the season handicap trophy in the process. Meanwhile Michael and Tim on Struth stormed home in the two lapper to take the handicap win.
