Sawtell Croquet Club

The 17th Annual GC Carnival saw a different format. 33 players contested a handicap event over 3 days. Sunny skies and lots of fun and laughter. In a gender friendly way each block saw a male and a female in the winners circle.
Block A Stewart Sinclair (Port Macquarie) and Pam Gentle (Maitland).
Block B Alysa Janssen (South West Rocks) and Cliff Elliott (Sawtell).
Block C Peter Sharp (Woolgoolga) and Margaret Carwood (Maitland)

We welcomed players from NSW and VIctoria to compete in our August GC Carnival. Such a great bunch and so many exceptional players.

Two picture perfect days for a Golf Croquet championship. Some competitive play and some spectacular jump shots the new club champions have been decided

The special Olympics fund raiser today was a great success. About 50people there for croquet fun. A great cake stall afternoon tea. Not sure of the final figure yet but will let you know
Thanks to the members who bought raffle tickets and who helped out on the day. There were 113 lollies in the jar.

The Regional GC Pennant season was wound up last week. Division 1 played in February saw Coutts Crossing the winners. Division 2 and 3 were played during March and April. Sawtell were victors in both divisions. In Division 2 we won all matches Division 3 saw all teams winning 2 matches each. Sawtell had the best net result

Sawtell is proud to announce two new club champions. The AC Handicap singles competition has been played and won. Derek secured Division 1. Carol Cate was runner up. while Brenda excelled in Division 2 with Wendy Forbes runner up. Well for this husband and wife team.

Sawtell was well represented at this weeks GC Carnival at Forster. In the winners circle
Kay Elliott won Block A. Marguerite Hackett lost on a count back for runner up in Block D. In the doubles matches Wendy Forbes and her partner had a win, Sue Bryan and her partner and Jenny Charnock and her partner were runners up in their blocks.
