Congratulations to Wyatt and Hugh for representing Sawtell Swimming Club at the 2026 Swimming NSW Country Short Course Championships held at SOPAC this weekend.

The low qualifying times required to be eligible to enter the championships ensures a high level of competition that includes the best NSW swimmers outside of metropolitan Sydney.

They both swam great with Hugh clocking a big PB in his 50m free and close in his 50m fly and Wyatt getting 4 top 10 results and 8 PB's from his 12 races.

Great job boys, we are very proud of you.

This weekend we sent an awesome big team to the 2026 Swimming North Coast short course championships held in sunny Grafton. Our swimmers swam very well with many PB's and placings over the weekend. We loved watching the comraderie amongst all of our relay teams. The 12yrs boys medley and 10yrs boys freestyle teams both won silver and the 12yrs girls freestyle team won championship gold.

A special mention also to Storm for winning girl MC swimmer of the meet and Frankie for getting runner up. Addison, Cohen and Hayley all won age champion. 🏆

These wonderful individual and relay results led to Sawtell Swimming Club finishing 3rd overall for the team pointscore of the championship. Our best result in the modern era.

Thank you to all the officials and coaches that generously donate their time and expertise that make these events possible and help all the swimmers refine their skills.

Yesterday Jago and Kobi competed at the Forster qualifying meet. Both swimmers hit solid PB times in most of their events and Kobi took home a swag of medals.

The event was perfect training for SNC short course area champs to be held in Grafton on 20 and 21st June. Entries to area champs closes 13th June.

What a great finish to the season with our 2026 Club Championships held yesterday. Our swimmers dug deep to use all their energy and drive with lots of races across just over 4 hours.

We would like to thank the officials for the day Jo Hodgson, Janelle Barnett, Hugh Goddard and Cate Rutherford. These wonderful people generously donate their time and energy to allow these great events to go ahead.

Our club's commitment to keeping our sport affordable while supporting swimmers as best we can is only possible thanks to our amazing sponsors. Our delicious BBQ was everyones Wednesday night dinner thanks to Butchers Hook Toormina, K'pane Artisan Bakery and Bakers Delight. Sawtell Cinema helped us reward our swimmers for achieving their best. Sawtell RSL Club, Level Projects and McGrath Coffs Coast provided financial support that allowed us to assist our representative swimmers, keep our fees as low as possible and invest in a new fridge and freezer that the club will benefit from for years to come. Coffs Coast Formwork helped us make the first Sawtell Cup a success and bought everyone at champs pizza at the end of the day. Please support these businesses and if you get a chance, thank them for their support.

It has been an incredible season that saw another year of huge growth in membership and participation in our club nights, as well as area and championship carnivals. We loved having so many families join our swimming community. Thank you to everyone that supported our efforts to keep our pool open and we thank in advance all the councillors that will support keeping this great asset open to the community and our club.

Our competitive swimmers will keep going and we wish them the best of luck in their school state carnivals coming up shortly as well as the upcoming short course competitions. We look forward to seeing everyone back together again in October.

Congratulations to our team that competed so well at the NSW long course Country Championships held at SOPAC on the weekend. The championship includes the best NSW swimmers outside of metropolitan Sydney.

This year we sent our biggest team in years with great efforts from all our 9 swimmers with plenty of pb's and a few state times. A special mention goes to Kobi for his stand out performances of 2nd 50m & 100m free, 3rd 50m breast, 4th 50m fly & back, 9th 200m free (1st 9yr old).

Well done to all of our swimmers that did a great job to qualify for this high level of competition.

A big thank you also to coaches Eugene and Kim for making the big journey to Sydney and supporting our swimmers at this meet.
