π«π·π WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FEW DAYS OF RACING 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France ! π©·π¦πΊ
Across several days on the beautiful Lac du Bourget, our five Redcliffe Pink Snapdragons Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Club Inc. have raced their hearts out on the international stage. With weather causing changes to the program, racing included both the fast and furious 200m and the gruelling 1000m.
This video brings together some of those incredible racing moments. ππ¨
π©· Lisa, Sonia & Anne paddled in team Coastal Breast Friends (Dragons Abreast Sunshine Coast).
π©· Jhana & Michelle paddled in Dragons Abreast Australia team Unity.
There were some fantastic performances across the racing. Unity stormed home FIRST in their 200m heat in 1:01.30, before going even faster in the final with 1:01.28 to finish THIRD! π₯π¦πΊ They also put in an enormous effort over the 1000m, recording 5:43.06.
Coastal Breast Friends also raced brilliantly, making it through to their 200m final and finishing SECOND, another fantastic result on the world stage! π₯π¦πΊ
While we haven't been able to capture every race time and result across all the events our ladies competed in, the numbers only tell a small part of the story anyway.
Every one of our five Snappies raced incredibly. They paddled hard, backed their crews, embraced the opportunity and represented themselves, their teams, Australia and our Snappies family with pride. π©·
To see Lisa, Sonia, Anne, Jhana and Michelle racing amongst breast cancer paddlers from all around the world is something pretty special. π
Five Snappies. Two crews. One incredible international experience. π¦πΊπ«π·π
We could not be prouder of you all! π©·π©·π©·

π¦πΊπ THE SNAPPIES HAVE PROUDLY PARADED FOR AUSTRALIA! π©·π«π·
What an incredible way to officially open the IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France!
The Parade of Nations was something truly special, breast cancer paddlers from around the world coming together on the shores of beautiful Lac du Bourget, proudly carrying their flags and representing their countries. ππ©·
And Australia certainly made its presence known! π¦πΊ With Australia the third-largest nation represented at the festival, there was plenty of Aussie colour, noise and spirit , and our Redcliffe Pink Snapdragons Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Club Inc. were right there amongst it all! π¦π
The opening ceremony was spectacular. Twenty-six dragon boats lined up facing the beach, followed by the official welcome and speeches, before the beautiful tradition of the Awakening of the Dragon.
Then came the drum countdown, officially launching IBCPC France 2026! π₯πβ¨
To see thousands of women gathered together from across the world, different countries, different languages, but connected by breast cancer and dragon boating, is pretty extraordinary. π©·
For our Snappies who have spent two years preparing for this moment, standing there beneath the Australian flag must have felt very special indeed. π¦πΊ
The festival is officially OPENβ¦ and now itβs time to paddle! ππ¨
We are so incredibly proud of our ladies representing the Redcliffe Pink Snapdragons, our community and Australia on the international stage. π©·π¦πΊπ«π·

Our Lisa, Sonia and Anne have joined their Coastal Breast Friends teammates, and what a way to start! Meanwhile, Michelle and Jhana have joined their Dragons Abreast Australia team and are settling into festival life, ready for an incredible week ahead. π¦πΊ
After travelling different paths through France and Switzerland, our five Snappies are finally together in Aix-les-Bains for the reason this whole adventure began. π

π«π·π¨π Snappies European Adventures β Update #2! ππ
While weβre counting down to the IBCPC 2026 IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival, France in Aix-les-Bains, our travelling Snappies are making the most of every moment in Europe! π
Our Club President Lisa and husband Peter have now arrived safely in Paris π«π· and what better way to start than taking in the sights of this incredible city! πΌβοΈ Lisa is feeling very blessed to be heading towards her first international dragon boat festival in seven years of paddling, with a little European adventure either side!
Meanwhile, Anne, Jhana ( Jonesy) and Michelle have been exploring the spectacular Swiss Alps π¨π, including an amazing day at Mount Pilatus. Gondolas and cable cars up the mountain, a German lunch, the appropriately named Dragon Hike π, a cogwheel train back down and a relaxing cruise on Lake Lucerne what a day!
Apparently the 16Β°C weather felt more like 22Β°C, so those winter clothes they packed mostly came out for the photos! π
And another safe arrival! π Sonia and her husband have touched down in Geneva, where theyβll enjoy a few days exploring before heading to Aix-les-Bains to join the others.
We absolutely LOVE seeing the photos and following along from home. π Our ladies have worked so hard to get to this point, and now theyβre making some pretty special memories along the way.
Keep the updates coming ladiesβ¦ weβre loving travelling Europe with you from afar! ππ
Next stopβ¦ getting our Snappies together in Aix-les-Bains! π«π·ππ
