Congratulations to our Westies players Amila, Paula and Renee who all represented South Australia at the recent Hockey Australia Masters Championships!

Amila represented South Australia for the third time for the Over 45s and whilst the team struggled with injuries, finishing 5th, Am had a cracking tournament! In the game against NSW he received the Best Player award and scored a trademark tomahawk goal. In their final game against ACT he casually put away four goals!

The Women's Over 40s also finished up their tournament in 5th place. Some highlights from their Games were Best on Ground Awards for Paula and Renee and a narrow loss to 1st placed WA. Especially with both of them playing not in their usual positions, with Paula at Striker and Renee at Inner! Go the Baby Wombats!

Westies is proud of all of you and your efforts representing our club and South Australia!

Good luck to Paula who is currently participating in the Alice Springs Masters this week!

Thanks to A Hazel Eyed Lens and Sportpics.com.au for the fantastic photos from both the Gold Coast and Adelaide tournaments!

Another of our Wonderful Westies players, Amila, is representing SA at the Men's Masters Championships on the Gold Coast!

It's his third time representing SA at the National Masters and this year he is playing in the Over 45's. Team SA had a great win today in their opening match against the WA Country side.

We are hugely proud of Am and wish him and the team well in their upcoming matches!

Whilst for most of us hockey is done and dusted for the year, not all of us...

Best of luck to Paula and Renee who are competing for SA at the 2026 Hockey Australia Masters Women's Championships!

Even better, this year's Championship is right here in Adelaide so make sure you get down to either the State Hockey Centre or Port Adelaide this weekend and show your support!

BUNNINGS BARBECUE FUNDRAISER!

Westies HC will be on the tongs again at Bunnings Marion next Saturday 26th September from 9am - 4pm! There's no decent teams in the Grand Final, so why not get on the DIY projects instead! Refuel at Westies' barbecue and help support community sport on the way!

See you there!

GRAND FINAL RESULT
Whilst the M5W's fought hard against Grange, unfortunately, the game did not go Westies' way, with the final score 0-1 to Grange.

We are however, super proud of our M5 Women's team who, after winning last year's M6 Grand Final:

- Won 15/18 games in 2026
- Finished the season as Minor Premiers
- Made it to the Grand Final in a higher grade after moving up

We can't wait to see what they (and all of our teams!) deliver in 2027!

PRELIM FINALS RESULTS
Congrats to the Metro 4 Men on a fantastic season! Whilst they controlled a lot of the Prelim Final, unfortunately Port put more in the back of the net, with the score 2-4 at full time. We look forward to seeing them back in the fight in 2027!

An even bigger congratulations to our Metro 5 Women who are GRAND FINAL BOUND!!! Although only one ball may have found its way into the goal, Westies dominated possession and looked in control, ready for their GRAND FINAL next week!

Stay tuned for the Grand Final fixture!
