Why yoga some might ask? There are so many ways we can move our bodies but yoga is different.Β
Yes yoga is amazing for keeping your joints mobile, muscles flexible and strong but it has so much more to offer.Β
Slow mindful yoga provides nervous system regulation, opportunities for self reflection and connection to something greater which can be healing and supportive for your body and mind.
If this is something you would like to experience then please join our welcoming classes on Monday or Thursdays evening 7:15-8:15pm in Seacliff.
You can hop on now (link in bio) and secure your place for Term 2. Classes are held in a spacious heated hall with low lighting and you can come as you are in comfortable clothing (ugg boots welcome ;)).
Below are Term Β 2 Dates:
π Term 2: Monday 27 April - Thursday 2 July

Why Vida Yoga? ππΌπππΌ
You may be wondering why π Vida Yoga π is the name of my little yoga business.
The name came to me as a culmination of a few things. One being that in Spanish βVidaβ means βlifeβ and as I have spent a lot of time in Spain and am influenced by the culture (including flamenco) it made sense to let these two passions come together in the name.
Yoga for Life (Vida) is what you will experience in our sessions together. They are slow, mindful and allow you to choose what is most supportive for you in your current season of life. You donβt have to stop doing yoga when your body changes, rather we adapt the poses and movements to honour our unique bodies.
That is one of the reason for the name Vida Yoga.
The other is that one of the meanings of the word βVidaβ in Sanskrit (the ancient language of yoga) means knowledge, discovery or understanding.
When our practice deepens the teachings of yoga become quite enlightening both on and off our mats. Knowledge and discovery of self and understanding of others help guide us to live more harmonious lives and remind us that it is a life long practice to understand ourselves and others.
I hope you find this interesting and look forward to sharing yoga for life, discovery and understanding with you this year.

Today I was fortunate to experience a beautiful mindful tea ceremony in Kyoto, Japan π΅
The host lead us in a wonderful quiet ceremony allowing us to appreciate the little things like the steam, the old tea bowls and tune into our senses.
As he spoke it reminded me of our yoga practice and space. He spoke of the significance of low lighting and having the time and space from everyday life.
I came away calm, refreshed and with a grateful heart.
I look forward to connecting with you on our mats in the coming term as we create this similar time and space from busy life to appreciate ourselves (perfectly imperfect) and others.
