🐯 Preliminary Finals Results 🐯

Happy Father’s Day to all our terrific Tiger Dads.

Under 19 footy started our preliminary finals action. Surface ground water and high winds added to the challenge but we got off to flying start. Leading at quarter time by 21 points.

Somerville changed gears in the second, applying pressure all over the ground, winding our lead back to 5 points at the main break. Quarter 3 was tight, 1 point our lead going into the last.

We faded in the last quarter and Somerville maintained their intensity, taking the win by 27 points.

Congratulations to Somerville on making the Grand Final. Good luck.

Netball A was met by the same blustery conditions and a determined Hastings. We got off to a slow start, trailing for most of Q1 before bringing it back to even at quarter time.

We ramped things up through Q2 and 3, generating turnovers and applying huge pressure on the Hastings shooters. Establishing a 4 - 8 goal margin which we maintained through to the final siren.

Jess Tetley was super in the front half, Ella Quinlan shot well in the wind and the long arms of Paris Tatter and Charlie Sievers made everything hard work for Hastings at our defensive end.

Netball A win and advance to next Saturdays Grand Final 💛🖤💛🖤 along with Netball B who’ve already booked their spot.

B Grade into Grand Final | U19s and A Grade 2nd chance Saturday | Presentation Night Our B Grade netball team produced its strongest performance of the season against top side Red Hill to advance to the Grand Final.

Congratulations to B grade player and committee star, Ciara Lumsden, on reaching 100 games in last weekends semi final!
In a true show of Ciara’s selfless nature, Ciara kept her 100 games quiet, with all focus being on the semi final 💪

A few words from your coach 🐯
Congratulations Ciara on 100 games. Ciara may be the only person in the club to have played in every grade at some point. And that just about sums her up, always willing to help out when needed both on and off the court.

Ciara has found her groove this year as a speedy goaler within the Grand Final bound B grade team. Her confidence to take on the defence and skillful use of the ball means she is a key link in our attack end. Occasionally she even shoots it. Wild.

Congratulations to A grade player and 17&U coach, Charlie Seivers, who reaches her 100th game with Seaford this weekend!

A few words from your coach 🐯
Charlie joined the club as a hyper-energetic, fun-loving teenager in 2020 and seven years later has blossomed into a hyper- energetic fun- loving young woman...but what has changed? Charlie has had to overcome many adversities; in particular, injuries that have meant she has spent chunks of seasons on the sidelines. Every time though, she comes back stronger, and for her 100th game she is in career best form. The thing that stands out through it all is her celebration of others. She is at every Saturday from first whistle to last and is always thinking of others first. She is the ultimate team mate and such a wonderful club person. You wont find another like her and she has been such a huge part of what makes Seaford the special place it is.

Congrats on your 100 games Charlie, we are all so proud of you! 👏
