Ladies, no more turning up to your workout fuelled only by coffee.
Especially in perimenopause, we want your training to help you build muscle, get stronger and recover well. Eating enough is part of that process.
Training on empty can leave you with less energy to lift well, push hard and get the most from your session.
Dr Stacy Sims recommends this starting point before early-morning training:
• A true strength session: around 15g of protein.
• Adding a cardiovascular element: include around 30g of carbohydrates too.
It doesn’t need to be a full breakfast. Try a small protein shake or high-protein yoghurt, with a banana or toast when you need carbohydrates. Check portions to meet those amounts.
You’re putting in the effort to build a stronger body. Give it the fuel to respond.
