The Port Adelaide name has long been associated with success in the football world, both in South Australia and on the national stage. The Port Adelaide Women’s Football Club, competing in the South Australian Women’s Football League is no exception. Since it’s inception in 2003, from humble beginnings, this club has represented the ethos that is Port Adelaide, and whist we are yet to claim the ul

A mixed bag for the Girls on the Sunday. The Div 5 side continued their strong start to the season with an 8.7-55 to 2.4-16 win away at Golden Grove.

The Div 2's fell short up at Mount Barker going down 7.12-54 to 3.6-24. A good performance against a Div 2 finals side from last year.

Both Teams will be at home this Saturday night ... Div 5's playing Payneham NU from 4:45pm and the Div 2's Playing Greenacres at 6:30pm. Bar and kitchen will be open. Come down and have a look.

Big congratulations to Tanasha Wood who played her 50th game on Sunday just gone. Thankyou to the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad for the banner. Your ongoing support of the girls is much appreciated!!!

Round 15 A grade Report - Adam Kusznir

Last game of the season saw us take on Adelaide Uni at North Haven.
A very strong side in Adelaide Uni we knew we up for a tough game. We went into the game with a fair few girls missing due to injures and unavailability. Which meant a few of the Resserves girls stepped up and played the 2 games which was a fantastic effort.
Even though the scoreboard showed a dominant game by Adelaide Uni, Gary and I were still happy with the way the girls went about it and did not give up at all during the game.

5th best
Faye Karafoulidis. Busy day down back for Faye but played her roll well and continued her consistency as she does each week.

4th best
Claire Minervini. Claire played in multiple positions and her physicality was fantastic around the ground.

3rd best
Tash Farrier. The Captain worked hard all day and gave alot in the midfield also playing a bit up forward. Tashs 2nd an 3rd efforts are second to none.

2nd best
Jess Macolino. We gave Jess a couple different rolls which she enjoyed. Jess work rate and power is outstanding, how she is able to break tackles and really open the game up.

1st best
Sadie Gent. We gave her a roll and that was to tag Matilda from Adelaide Uni an experienced midfielder who also plays for Norwood. Sadie stuck to her roll an did really well keeping Matilda out of the game. Great effort and developmemt for her first year of Football.

On behalf of the Coaching staff I'd like to say a big thank you to all the supporters, volunteers and anyone else involved at the club.

Round 15 Reserves Report.

Adelaide Uni 8.7-55 def PAWFC 0.2-2

Best Players: C. Minervini, A. Calvario, K. Moran, J. Evans, I. Battifuoco

Sunday saw our 2018 season come to a close when we took on Adelaide Uni at North Haven football club. And while we did not come away with a win I can honestly say we gave our opponents a tough, hard and uncompromising game of football. For our last game of the season we had Red and Tashara back in the side to help out with numbers. 14 girls doubled up to make sure we could field 2 sides on Sunday. Once again, thank you all the coaches and the club really appreciate the effort.

We had a pretty good line up on Sunday and I think we probably gave Uni a little bit more of a challenge than they were expecting. We had our chances early to hit the score board. Could have been interesting if we had of taken them and built some momentum. However it wasn’t to be and a very good Uni side made us pay. Claire’s physical attack on the ball and body was amazing and took it into the A grade as well. Anna continued her good form and just keeps giving a contest each and every time. Beanz had 2 goal saving tackles as well as a good all-round game. Red showed what a quality footballer she is, hadn't played in a long while but barely skipped a beat and fit right back in with our defence. India has been great all year and lead her team right to the end. Plenty of other good players on the day and across our season.

It has been a tough year for the club and I thank each and every person that has given their time to make sure we could get teams on the ground almost every week. I have enjoyed the year and look forward to building on the progress we have made next year.

Enjoy a break … and we will see you all next year!!!
