THROWBACK THURSDAY 💙🏊♀️
You may remember Damon as AFAC’s Swim School Team Leader back in 2019, before spending 5years as our Programs Coordinator. Damon was a huge part of AFAC’s journey and success, and we’re so proud to see him now taking on his new role as Manager of Recreation Services at the City of Subiaco 🤝
Fast forward to today, and Damon and his wife are taking their first born, Bronte to her first ever swim, there was only one place Damon had in mind.
In his words, “There’s no way her first swim would be anywhere but AFAC!” So, they made the trip down to introduce Bronte to the water for the very first time 🎉
From helping shape AFAC’s Swim School to bringing his own daughter here for her very first swim… talk about a full-circle moment! 🥹💙

Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Month, Dechlan!
Dechlan shows consistent teamwork, initiative, and willingness to support those around him 💪
He regularly steps up when the team is short-staffed, helping wherever needed to ensure the centre runs smoothly😇
During Health Club opening week, Dechlan went above and beyond by providing additional support and helping ensure members had a positive experience during a particularly busy period.

Meet Jamie! 🫶
Jamie has been a Swim Instructor for nearly 3 years and has been part of the AFAC Swim School crew for 2 years and 9 months of that time ❤
"What drew me to this role was that both of my kids have been a part of the Learn to Swim Program since babies. With my second I really found myself enjoying the lessons more and more and feeling so proud not only when my child achieved, but when others did too! I decided to give it a go, and I have never looked back!
My favourite part is how utterly rewarding it is seeing the children learn & progress - I also have a passion for working within the Bubs & Tots Programs."
Fun fact: I absolutely love dogs! Even previously working in a Dog Daycare/Walker when I lived in Canada (another fun fact!), and have owned my own Dog Walking business here in Perth 🐶
