💛 A personal story ~ Pelvic Floor Wellbeing

Living with a bowel condition has taught me that pelvic health can have a much bigger impact on everyday life than we might realise.

Seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist was instrumental in my own wellbeing journey. It helped me better understand my body and gave me more confidence to enjoy longer walks and hikes, like this stretch of the Cape to Cape Track.

For me, that was life-changing.

🌿 When we hear the words pelvic floor, many of us immediately think about strengthening exercises. But pelvic floor wellbeing is about so much more, including bladder and bowel function, coordination, relaxation and the ability to respond to what our body needs.

This is why I'm so looking forward to offering our Pelvic Floor Awareness & Well-Being workshop alongside Hug Pelvic Physio Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy.

Combining Louise's clinical expertise with gentle, yoga-based movement, we'll explore this often-overlooked part of the body from a broader perspective.

📅 Saturday 24 October | 1–4 pm
📍 Shelley Anglican Parish Hall
🎟️ $145 per person

We have a few places remaining, and we'd love you to join us!

What happens when pelvic health physiotherapy meets yoga? 🌿

I’m really looking forward to offering this special afternoon alongside Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist Hug Pelvic Physio, combining her clinical expertise with gentle, yoga-based movement.

What comes to mind when you hear the words pelvic floor?

For many of us, it’s probably pelvic floor strengthening. But there’s so much more to pelvic floor wellbeing than strength alone. Learning how to relax, lengthen, coordinate and respond to what your body needs is just as important. 💛

Together, we’ll explore pelvic health through education, mindful movement and open conversation — in a safe, supportive and welcoming space.

🌸 Saturday 24 October
🕐 1:00–4:00pm
📍 Shelley Anglican Parish Hall
💰 $145

You don’t need to have a pelvic floor problem to attend. If you’re curious about understanding your body a little better, you’re very welcome.

🌿 Pelvic Floor Well-being Workshop This October with Pelvic Health Physiotherapist Louise Hug & C-IAYT Yoga Therapist Heather Robbins

What comes to mind when you hear the words pelvic floor?

For many of us, it’s probably pelvic floor strengthening.

But there’s so much more to pelvic floor wellbeing than strength alone. The ability to relax, lengthen, coordinate and respond to the needs of the body is just as important — and understanding how it all works can be incredibly empowering. 💛

I’m really pleased to be offering this special afternoon alongside Louise Hug, combining her clinical expertise with gentle, yoga-based movement.

Through education, mindful movement and open discussion, we’ll create a safe and supportive space to better understand your pelvic floor, reconnect with your body and explore practical ways to support your pelvic health.

🌸 This workshop may be particularly helpful if you’re:

✔️ Experiencing pelvic floor leakage, heaviness or pain
✔️ Rebuilding connection post-childbirth or navigating midlife changes
✔️ Curious about pelvic health but unsure where to begin
✔️ Wanting to better understand your pelvic floor and how it functions
✔️ Looking for a safe and supportive environment for therapeutic movement

You don’t need to have a pelvic floor problem to attend. All bodies and experiences are welcome. Come as you are. 🤍

🌙 A little Friday evening pause…

Next Friday, 9 October, we’ll gather again for our monthly Gentle Yoga & Sound Healing evening. ✨

From 6:00–7:00pm, we’ll slow things down, settle into the body and give ourselves a little space to simply be.

There’s something lovely about taking an hour out of the week to stop doing, soften the edges and let the sounds of the crystal bowls, chimes, ocean drum and gentle percussion wash over you.

No experience needed.
No need to be “good” at relaxing.
Just come as you are. 🤍

Friday 9 October | 6:00–7:00pm
📍 Shelley Anglican Parish Hall
💫 $25 casual

Spaces are limited, so if your body is asking for a little more rest and quiet, you can book your place now.

Three more evenings together before Christmas. 🌙✨

🌕 **The final week of our winter season**

This week in class we moved with the full moon — taking a little time to pause, reflect and notice what the past month has held.

As we come to the end of winter, or **Makuru**, it felt like a beautiful moment to ask ourselves:

✨ What am I ready to let go of?
✨ What no longer needs my energy?
✨ And what would I like to make a little more space for as we move into spring?

There doesn’t always need to be a big answer. Sometimes simply noticing is enough.

I’ve loved exploring this **Season of Gentle Strength** with you, finding steadiness, softness and strength in all their different forms, and remembering that strength doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes strength is knowing when to pause, breathe and let something go. 🤍

And now, as winter begins to make way for spring, our next season is ready to book! 🌱

If you’d like to continue practising with me, I’d love to welcome you into the next chapter.

**Spring classes are now open for bookings.** 🌿

Always doubting himself, and usually hiding it all behind jokes, silliness and a healthy dose of hilarity. 😂❤️

But yesterday, our Luke grew up just a little bit more.

After navigating a tough loss over the past month, and then experiencing some wonderful wins this week, he’s had such a great few weeks of learning that things don’t always go your way and that you can pick yourself up, move on, keep trying and enjoy the moments when they do.

And yesterday, as faction captain, watching him lead, encourage and celebrate with his team was pretty special. 🥹

The winning faction was certainly worth celebrating 🏆, but watching him grow through the whole experience has been the real win for me.

So proud of you, Lukey. ❤️

When you've had very little sleep, how do we process the crazy moments? That feeling like we are not enough butter spread over too much bread?

I love butter 😆
