💙🖤 It’s relay time, ! 💙🖤
Regional Relays are a team‑focused carnival where athletes from U7 to U17 come together to represent USCLAC in both track and field events.
All abilities are welcome — this event is about having a go, working together, and showing UniFamily spirit.
📣TRACK RELAYS — HOW THEY WORK
Track relays use teams of four athletes.
Events may include:
* 4 × 100m
* Shuttle Relay, Swedish Relay, Distance Medley (age‑group dependent)
Athletes nominate individually. After nominations close, our competitions team will place athletes into relay teams — no need to organise your own.
📣FIELD EVENTS — HOW THEY WORK
Field events are competed individually at Regional Relays. Performances are then combined to form qualifying field teams for State Relays.
Events vary by age group and may include: Long Jump High Jump Discus Shot Put
📣WHAT CAN MY ATHLETE NOMINATE FOR?
Athletes may nominate for up to five events available in their age group.
Multi Class athletes may nominate for up to three events: 2 × 100m Long Jump Discus
📣AGE GROUPS AND TEAMS
There are two types of teams at Regional Relays.
Individual Age Teams = all athletes are the same age group (U9–U17).
Combined Age Teams = athletes from two age groups work together (e.g., U9–U10).
📣UPDATED AGE GROUPS
This season’s Combined Age Team groupings have been adjusted to better align athlete development:
* U7-U8
* U9–U10
* U11–U12
* U13–U14
* U15–U17
(was previously, 9-10, 11-13, 14-17)
📣 CAN TEAMS QUALIFY FOR STATE?
* Yes — for U9 to U17 athletes.
* Track teams placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd may progress to the McDonald’s State Relay Championships.
* Qualifying field teams may also progress.
U7 and U8 compete at Regional Relays but do not progress to State.
