Week 4 of finals delivered a huge result for the Mighty Emus, with two premierships coming home to Skipton!
The heat was on from the opening bounce of the under 15’s with a fiercely contested first quarter full of tackles, pressure and stoppages. Charlie Molloy finally broke through late in the quarter to kick the first goal of the game.
From there, the boys took control. The second quarter saw some brilliant passages of football as Skipton found their rhythm and piled on four unanswered goals.
Our backline was outstanding all day, holding Waubra goalless for the entire game. Lucas Phillips was rock solid in defence, earning himself Best on Ground, while Ollie Wilkie dominated in the ruck. Up forward, Charlie Molloy finished with an impressive five goals.
A complete team performance saw our Under 15 footballers claim their third consecutive premiership, an incredible achievement.
Congratulations to Kiernan and the entire team on an outstanding season. A special congratulations also to Harvey Hanlon, who was named Best in Finals.
The Under 18 Grand Final was a cracking contest that had absolutely everything, big pack marks, strong tackles, pressure acts and crowd pleasing smothers.
Our boys delivered a brilliant four quarter performance to outclass Bungaree and bring home the premiership.
Ned Ross, Noah Connell and Huey Hanlon were outstanding in defence, taking crucial intercept marks and applying relentless pressure. At the other end, Josh Hooper was dominant in the forward line, finishing with four goals, while Caden Clark and Quayde McKay contributed two goals each.
Congratulations to Grant, Dean and our Under 18 footballers on a fantastic premiership, supported by the best runner in the business Rossy. A special congratulations to Ned Ross, who was named Best in Finals.
What a way to finish the season.
