Are your dancer’s shoes clean and have their names written in them?
Our last classes before the performance are this afternoon so make sure those jazz and tap shoes get a wipe over with a damp cloth and your canvas ballet shoes go through a delicates wash and hung to dry ready for tomorrow afternoon.

If your dancers hair is really sweaty and 🤢 today is the last day you want to wash their hair before the performance. A bit of grease and sweat helps to smooth out hair for the perfect performance bun.

This weeks Top Tips are for those with 'Senior' Dancers (Grade 2 and above)!

Our Senior students participate in a number of opportunities to help them improve their technique and reach for new goals. These include our In-Class Displays, ATOD Examinations, Senior Performance and Choreography Display.

To help support your dancer to do their best, here are my Top 5 Tips:

✔️ Encourage them to check on the DSP Portal for videos to practice with at home.

✔️ Make sure they have had a well balanced, healthy snack before class. As we get closer to displays and performances our students are working hard in class and need energy from the food they put in before class.

✔️ Remind them that if they are uncertain of anything they just need to ask their teacher for help. We love to see students ask us to break down a step they don't quite get.

✔️ When they are tired from school and other commitments and don't feel like coming to class remind them of the buzz they get when in class and afterwards. Exercise helps boost our mood and seeing friends at dance can go a long way to helping when we are feeling low.

✔️Tell your dancer how proud you are of them for wanting to improve their dancing and work to reach dance goals. Your support and encouragement goes a long way to helping them remember that the hard work is all worth it.

We are so proud of our Senior dancers and all the work they put in each year to improve and reach new goals.

We love taking our students out to visit and dance for the residents at Arcare Eight Mile Plains. Our Christmas visit is always especially fun 🎄

After our very first performance for the residents we had this wonderful feedback from their Activities Co-ordinator Donna and we have loved going back:
