Day 4
A huge step forward from our Diamonds! 💎

After going down by 20 goals the last time we met, the Rising Diamonds came away with a 36–30 win over the Malaysian U17 touring side today.

Our girls set up a wall-to-box defence brilliantly, slowing Malaysia’s attack and creating plenty of turnover opportunities against a team that is so accurate under the ring. They also stood up to Malaysia’s physicality and strong first-ball pressure.

At RDNA, it’s not all about winning. We’re here for the growth, learnings and education that come from challenging ourselves and adapting on court. Seeing the girls put those lessons into practice is what we’re after—the win is a bonus! 👏💙🤍

CANA | Day 3 💎🏐

Two games against SMAA teams and two wins for the RDNA girls!

The girls were feeling tired and sore this morning, and our warm-up had been disrupted by pre-game traditions with the opposition. Captain Aimee Hindle suggested meeting a little earlier to prepare, and the whole group was happy to adjust. At RDNA, we value player-led game-day activities—great initiative and teamwork, Aimee and the girls!

We used two warm-up drills to wake up both the body and the mind:

🩷 Call, connect and pass: The whole team formed one circle with two balls moving around. The pink ball was bounce-passed and the white ball was chest-passed. Then we added two rules: call for the ball, and make eye contact before passing.

👀 Peripheral vision: In two smaller circles, the girls worked together to keep two balls moving clockwise. One ball was tossed into the air while the next was passed across; players had to receive, pass on and catch in sequence. A great challenge for focus, timing and awareness—with a few giggles along the way!

On court, we worked on split-circle defence. In attack, we focused on tempo: knowing when to play fast and when to control the ball. We’re also asking for preliminary movement before leading, helping build stronger connections through transition.

Proud of the girls’ effort, adaptability and determination today. Go RDNA! 🩵🏐

CANA Tournament Update 💎🏐

A strong start for RDNA yesterday with a 69–7 win over the SMAA team! 🙌

Today brought a different challenge against the Malaysia touring team. We went down 53–33, but the girls adapted brilliantly as the game went on and showed real determination.

There were some big positional challenges, with GDs and WDs stepping into centre and our GS taking on GK. The team also worked hard to find their way through a box defence.

So proud of the girls for embracing the challenge, supporting each other and learning as they went. A lovely team and coaching group from Malaysia made it a great experience all round. 💙
