Food, culture, connection... and gratitude. â¤ď¸
Today I joined a walking food tour through the streets of Barcelona, and it reminded me why I love food tours so much.
Not just because I love food (which I absolutely do!).
But because food is one of the most beautiful ways to experience a place.
⨠It helps me immerse myself in the local culture.
⨠It takes me to hidden spots I would never find on my own.
⨠It helps me navigate what is safe to eat when travelling in unfamiliar countries.
⨠And perhaps most importantly, it connects me with people.
Today we wandered through the streets of Barcelona, admiring the architecture, sharing tapas and paella, sipping local vermouth and sangria, and exchanging stories with incredible humans from all over the world.
As we walked, I found myself reflecting on the fact that just two days ago I was doing a food tour in Delhi.
Two cities. Two countries. Two completely different cultures.
Different people. Different clothing. Different food. Different sounds. Different scenery.
Yet both equally fascinating, welcoming and rich in their own unique way.
Travel has a beautiful way of reminding us how diverse our world is, while also showing us how much we all have in common.
Tonight I'm sitting with a very full stomach, a full heart, and immense gratitude for the opportunity to experience these amazing places and the people who call them home.
What is the most memorable food experience you've had while travelling?

Ever had trouble with the phrase âlet it goâ?
In yoga we hear it all the time.
âLet it go with the exhale.â
âRelease it.â
âDonât hold onto it.â
But for many people⌠thatâs really hard.
Some experiences, emotions, memories or worries donât simply disappear because someone tells us to release them. Sometimes the harder we try to âlet it go,â the tighter we hold on.
So maybe thereâs another way.
Maybe instead of letting it goâŚ
we practice holding it lightly.
Not gripping so tightly.
Not letting it consume us.
Not carrying it with tension in every breath and every thought.
Just softening our hold.
Creating a little space around it.
Allowing ourselves to breathe with it, rather than battle against it.
Sometimes healing isnât about forcing ourselves to release.
Sometimes itâs about learning to carry things more gently.Â

And just like that⌠itâs my last day in India.
And what a beautiful final day it was. Sunrise yoga followed by a walking tour through Old Delhi - sampling incredible food, weaving through crowded streets, and observing the raw, vibrant rhythm of modern-day life.
It was hot.
38 degrees hot.
It was loud.
It was chaotic.
It was everything Delhi is⌠and I absolutely love it.
As I walked through the streets today, I found myself reflecting on how fortunate and deeply grateful I am for this body and mind that allow me to travel the way I do. To explore. To adapt. To stay curious. To immerse myself fully in places that challenge and awaken me.
Because travel like this isnât for everyone.
Not everyone enjoys the noise, the intensity, the smells, the unpredictability.
Not everyone can stomach the food or embrace the sensory overload that India offers so unapologetically.
But for me⌠it feels like something deeper than travel.
It feels like coming home to a part of my soul.
This is my third time in India, and I know with certainty it wonât be my last. She has so much to offer - wisdom, contrast, devotion, beauty, humanity, perspective. Every visit changes me in some way.
India has my heart.
And I already canât wait to return.

Just a little reminder that classes will resume on 11 July as I am currently in India and then heading to Spain for a little more travel and adventure before returning home.
While Iâm away, if youâd like to continue practising with me, I am filming yoga videos almost every day and uploading them to YouTube so you can still move, breathe and connect with your practice from home. Itâs also become a beautiful way for me to share some of the incredible places I have the opportunity to experience along the way.
At this very moment, Iâm sitting in a hotel in New Delhi about to head out on a chefâs food walking tour - combining my love of local culture, incredible food, connection and moving my body through new places and experiences.
The retreat here in India was truly transformational and Iâm carrying so much inspiration, gratitude and learning home with me. I honestly canât wait to see you all again in person when classes resume.
If youâd like daily updates from the journey, you can follow along on Instagram or Facebook, and if youâd like to continue practising yoga with me while Iâm away, make sure you subscribe to YouTube.
Take care everyone and see you soon # # #

And just like that, the retreat is over.
At least in its physical form. But not in its transformational form.
The transformation now lives within every woman who showed up with an open heart and a willingness to be changed - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
We all leave carrying something so valuable itâs difficult to put into words. A deeper connection to ourselves. Intentions for the way we want to move forward. Friendships formed through vulnerability and presence. Acceptance. Freedom. Softness. Strength.
The kind of connection that can feel difficult to find in the âreal world.â
I was planning to write this last night, but the internet was out. And maybe that was divine intervention. Maybe it was the universe whispering, âJust savour this moment for yourself.â A reminder that I donât always have to give outwardly. That sometimes Iâm allowed to simply receive.
So instead, I slept in the reverence of this retreat. In the stillness. In the gratitude. In the love that was created here.
And I know, without question, that I will be forever changed by it.

Ever wondered what ecstatic dance actually is?
Have you heard the words before but never really understood what it means?
Or wondered why ecstatic dance is so often paired with a cacao ceremony?
You are not alone.
For many people, the idea of moving freely without choreography, expectation or judgement can feel both intriguing and a little unfamiliar. But at its heart, ecstatic dance is simply an invitation to move in a way that feels natural and authentic for you.
⨠No steps to follow.
⨠No mirrors.
⨠No pressure to perform.
⨠Just movement, music, breath and presence.
And that is exactly why it can be so powerful.
So much of life asks us to think, perform, achieve and hold ourselves together. Ecstatic dance creates space to step out of the mind and back into the body. Through movement, we can release stress and tension, process emotions, reconnect with ourselves, regulate the nervous system and experience freedom, joy and expression in a way that words often cannot reach.
Combined with ceremonial cacao - a heart-opening practice used for centuries to support connection, reflection and emotional openness - the experience becomes an opportunity to soften, release, reconnect and explore yourself in a completely different way.
On Friday 31 July 2026, Iâll be joining Mish at Creative Roots Breath Therapy for an evening of cacao, movement and connection as I begin to explore this offering more deeply myself - connecting to healing, expression, presence and community.
This is not about being a dancer.
It is about being human.
Feeling. Moving. Releasing. Connecting.
If you feel curious, drawn to it or simply ready to try something different, you are warmly welcome to join us.
Join us for this beautiful evening of cacao, ecstatic dance and connection.

Day 9 - letâs talk about food.
Letâs talk about Indian food.
Not just the flavours, but the experience of it.
The philosophy behind it.
The care in it.
The way food here feels deeply connected to nourishment, balance, energy and life itself.
The vibrant colours of turmeric, saffron, chilli, coriander and mint.
The richness of warming spices - cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, fennel.
The comfort of steaming masala chai shared slowly between moments of practice, conversation and reflection.
Over these days weâve enjoyed beautiful northern Indian dishes - palak paneer, dal, chana masala, aloo gobi, vegetable curries, fresh chapati, rice, pakoras and warming soups. Food layered with so much depth, flavour and intention.
And perhaps what has been most surprising is how this food makes you feel.
Nourished.
Grounded.
Satisfied without heaviness.
Energised rather than depleted.
No alcohol.
Vegetarian meals.
Food prepared fresh each day from the garden.
Meals eaten slowly, together, with presence.
There is something incredibly healing about that.
In yoga we often speak about prana - life force energy - and here you can almost feel it in the food itself. The freshness. The spices. The warmth. The care. The connection to the earth and tradition.
It becomes more than eating.
It becomes part of the practice.
A reminder that nourishment is not just about calories or nutrients, but also about colour, ritual, community, pleasure, balance and presence.
India has a way of awakening all of the senses.
And the food is very much part of that magic.

Day 8 - Devotion. Commitment. Consistency.
One of the gifts of retreat is time.
Time to slow down.
Time to listen.
Time to practice.
In everyday life, many of us are moving from one responsibility to the next, trying to fit ourselves into the spaces left over. But on retreat, something shifts. There is space to devote ourselves to the practice in a way that life rarely allows.
Three practices a day.
Two hours in the morning.
Two hours in the afternoon.
A gentle practice before bed.
And somewhere in the repetition of breath, movement, stillness and presence⌠yoga begins to seep into every pore of your being. Into every cell. It moves through the blood, softens the nervous system, quietens the mind and awakens something deeper within.
A different awareness emerges.
A consciousness that is difficult to describe, but easy to feel.
The body changes.
The mind changes.
The way we meet ourselves changes.
We begin to experience the physical benefits - flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, support for the nervous and endocrine systems, improved sleep, energy and wellbeing.
We feel the mental benefits - a calmer mind, reduced stress, anxiety and overwhelm, greater focus, clarity and resilience.
We notice the emotional effects - more patience, compassion, emotional regulation, softness and connection.
And then there are the spiritual effects - feeling grounded, connected, present and deeply alive. A remembering of who we are underneath the noise of everyday life.
While most of us cannot practice for five hours a day once we return home, perhaps the lesson is this:
we do not need to do everything to experience transformation.
Even a few conscious breaths.
Ten minutes on the mat.
A moment of stillness before the day begins.
Consistency. Devotion. Commitment to yourself.
Because yoga is not only something we do.
It is something we live.Â
