Burnie Yacht Club BYC is a family orientated sailing club. Enjoy the fun and excitement of sailing Sunday mornings. Arrive 9:00am.

If you're interested in learning to sail we have club boats available and buddy you up with an experienced sailor. Race briefing 10:00am and on the water til about 12:30pm. Family membership (including couples): $200
Adult membership: $200
Junior membership: $100

Sunday, 4th October, is our first day of activity at the club for the new season.
Arrive at 10am for a working bee to get things operational and a run in the rescue boats.
For those interested in a sail, bring your boat down for a casual sail to break the ice on the new season. We won't have a formal race day, but a sail will help blow the dust away.
The club aims to create a friendly, supportive space for new sailors and volunteers. You might be interested in getting on the water in support boats or helping on shore.

The club will support people new to sailing by having them crew in double-handed Pacer dinghies. Our members love and enjoy the sport of sailing and would like to share that with interested people.

As a footnote this year is the 65th year of sailing. Lets make it a good season.

Formal program begins on October 11th with the first heat of the Spring Pennant. Invitation goes out to anyone who would like to sail including people from other clubs.

No sailing today, too difficult to get out through the waves 😲 Sunday 8th March is a long weekend, so there will no sailing at Burnie Yacht Club. For those wanting to sail there's the Strahan regatta hosted by Leven Yacht Club. Head to their page for entry details.
