๐Ÿฅ‹ Little Girls, Big Confidence! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅ‹ Thereโ€™s something special about watching two young 7th Kup students develop their skills, confidence and courage through Tae Kwon Do!

These two little students are putting their training into action with some free sparring โ€” learning not only how to kick and move, but how to control their techniques, read their partner, react under pressure and maintain focus. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿฅ‹

Martial arts can give young girls so much more than physical skills. It helps develop:

โญ Confidence โ€“ believing in themselves and their abilities
โญ Self-discipline โ€“ learning to listen, focus and keep working towards a goal
โญ Coordination & fitness โ€“ developing balance, movement and physical strength
โญ Courage โ€“ becoming comfortable trying something new and challenging
โญ Respect โ€“ learning to respect their instructors, training partners and themselves
โญ Self-control โ€“ understanding that having ability also means knowing when and how to use it
โญ Resilience โ€“ learning that mistakes and challenges are simply part of improving
โญ Self-defence awareness โ€“ developing practical skills and greater awareness of their surroundings

And perhaps most importantly, they learn that being strong isn't just about being physically powerful โ€” it's about being confident, capable, disciplined and believing in yourself.

Two little 7th Kups todayโ€ฆ who knows where their Tae Kwon Do journey may take them! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‹

๐Ÿฅ‹ SIDE KICK SATURDAY! ๐Ÿฅ‹ The road to Black Belt is built one training session at a time. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Todayโ€™s Side Kick Saturday features 1st Kup, Gabby from our Cockburn Dojang, who is continuing to put in the hard work as she prepares for her Black Belt Grading in 2027.

At 1st Kup, the journey is no longer just about learning techniques โ€” itโ€™s about refining them, developing consistency, building strength and demonstrating the control and discipline expected of a future Black Belt.

Gabbyโ€™s side kick is a great example of the focus and commitment that comes with progressing towards that next level. ๐Ÿ‘Š

There are no shortcuts to a First TKD Black Belt. Train. Refine. Persevere. Improve.

Every class, every technique and every challenge brings Gabby one step closer to her goal. ๐Ÿฅ‹

Keep working hard, Gabby โ€” your Black Belt journey continues!

Strength in Numbers ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅ‹ Warm-ups at First TaeKwonDo aren't just about breaking a sweat โ€” every class we work through five key areas: Fitness, Flexibility, Strength, Balance & Agility.

These shots from our Cockburn Dojang capture strength drills. Students and instructors line up, dig into their stances, and pull with everything they've got โ€” building strength, teamwork, and a few laughs along the way.

As instructors, we mix up our warm-up drills regularly to keep training fresh, fun, and challenging for students of all ages and belt levels. Same five focus areas, always a new way to get there!

06/09/2026

๐ŸŒŸ Fatherโ€™s Day 2026 ๐ŸŒŸ This Fatherโ€™s Day, First TaeKwonDo WA celebrates the dads who donโ€™t just encourage their children from the sidelines โ€” they step onto the Dojang floor and train alongside them.

There is something incredibly powerful about a father and child learning TaeKwonDo together. Every class becomes an opportunity to demonstrate, through action, the importance of discipline, respect, perseverance and determination.

Children learn from the examples they see. When Dad turns up, trains hard, faces challenges and keeps going when things get difficult, he is teaching lessons that extend well beyond martial arts.

The journey isn't always easy. There are techniques that take time to master, physical challenges that test us and moments when progress can feel slow. Sharing those experiences creates a unique bond between father and child โ€” one built on encouragement, achievement and overcoming obstacles together.

And years from now, it may not be the individual kicks, punches or patterns they remember most. It will be the time spent together, the lessons learned and the memories created on the Dojang floor.

A father's greatest influence often comes not from what he says, but from what he does. Acta Non Verba โ€” Deeds, Not Words.

To all the fathers, dads, grandfathers and father figures in our First TaeKwonDo WA family โ€” thank you for leading by example, supporting your children and helping them become stronger, more confident and resilient individuals.

From everyone at First TaeKwonDo WA, we wish all the incredible dads a very Happy Fatherโ€™s Day! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ‹

Flying High in Free Sparring! ๐Ÿฅ‹๐Ÿ”ฅ Junior Black Belt Jonathan demonstrates outstanding athleticism, timing, and confidence as he launches into a spectacular jumping side kick during free sparring training.

Executing a technique like this requires far more than just jumping high. It demands explosive power, balance, precision, spatial awareness, and the confidence to commit fully while under pressure. Jonathan's ability to combine these elements is a reflection of the dedication and hard work he consistently brings to training.

Free sparring provides students with the opportunity to develop timing, distance control, and decision-making skills, and it's always exciting to see students confidently applying advanced techniques in a dynamic environment.

Well done, Jonathan! Keep aiming high and continuing to push your limits. The sky is the limit when hard work meets determination. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

27/05/2026

At First Tae Kwon Do, we teach and train in traditional martial arts, and we understand that strong technique begins with a strong foundation.

For every student to reach their maximum potential, we must continually develop the key building blocks of martial arts performance:
โ€ข Fitness & cardio
โ€ข Strength
โ€ข Flexibility
โ€ข Balance & coordination

That is why the first 15/20 minutes of every First TKD class are dedicated to focused warm-up and conditioning exercises designed to improve these important areas. By building the body correctly, students are able to perform Tae Kwon Do techniques with greater speed, sharper timing, stronger control, and more explosive power.

In this collage, you can see our Cockburn Adults Class working through plyometric training drills. These exercises develop explosive movement, agility, balance, and lower-body strength โ€” all essential attributes for strong martial arts technique and long-term progression in Tae Kwon Do.

A strong martial artist is built from the ground up, and every warm-up is another step toward becoming stronger, faster, and more capable both physically and mentally.

๐Ÿ’ Happy Motherโ€™s Day from First TKD WA! ๐Ÿ’ Today we celebrate the incredible mothers across all our WA branches who continue to inspire us both on and off the dojang floor. Our 2026 Motherโ€™s Day Collage is a tribute to the women who not only encourage their children through their TaeKwonDo journey, but who also have the courage and commitment to train alongside them. ๐Ÿฅ‹

There is something truly special about a mother who leads by example. โค๏ธ Through every class, every challenge, and every grading, these women show their children the value of perseverance, humility, discipline, and inner strength. ๐Ÿ’ช They prove that growth never has an age limit and that true leadership comes through action.

Between work, family commitments, and the endless responsibilities of everyday life, our TKD mums still make time to better themselves physically and mentally. ๐ŸŒŸ That dedication deserves enormous respect. Their presence within our dojangs helps create the strong family culture that First TKD is proud of. ๐Ÿ‘
To every mother in our First TKD family โ€” thank you for your support, your kindness, your resilience, and the example you set for the next generation. ๐ŸŒท We are proud to have you as part of our community and grateful for everything you do.

If this collage touches your heart, please like โค๏ธ, comment ๐Ÿ’ฌ, and share ๐Ÿ”„ as we celebrate these amazing women today.
