Special pony gets family through the toughest of times I Australian Rural & Regional News Lachie Allen is just four and his big sister Milla is six. When Mila led Lachie to a win on the little white pony Pixie at the recent Equestrian Festival at Warragul, there was hardly a dry eye in the house.

Cosi has been a long term project as I got him as a yearling. He is now 4 years old 14.2hh but fairly solid, he has no trouble carrying 63kg comfortably and he has a wonderful big stride for a little horse and had many experiences including accompanying racehorses to Cranbourne track, obstacle clinic and several solo trips to Urban Trails , trail riding at hookers road, a trip to the water Walker with 3 others on the truck and plenty of riding here at home solo and in company. ( Cosi self loads and floats perfectly solo or in company) Cosi is highly intelligent and playful, always keen to learn. He can be a little bit over zealous at times (no buck, rear, bolt) so he still needs a confident rider but he will mature into a kids pony easily in time ... Top Horse of the Day: Mahogany Park Horatio

7 yr old bay gelding 12.2h hands (unofficial) Reg: EA, Australian Pony Stud book and Welsh Pony.

Hugo is a much-loved member of the family, but the time has come for him to find a new jockey as his current one is more interested in his Stock Horse that will chase cows and he is wasted in our paddock.

We have owned Hugo since he was 3 years old. He has attended pony club, interschools even a stock horse show which he has taken everything in his stride. He loves to jump, do handy mount and novelties. He would also excel in the show hunter ring (we haven’t shown him as my son is not interested in showing). He has been ridden by all levels of riders from beginners to experienced. He has a well-established education and is like riding a rocking chair.

As he was so young when we purchased him for our 7 year old son (at the time), I have always kept his education ticking along, so he is happy with kids and adults riding him in any situation. He would be best suited to a confident rider or a family with an adult to ride him every so often to keep in on track.

Hugo is a beautiful pony with a fantastic loveable nature and a pleasure to have around, he is very easy to catch, float, clip etc. He does have a locking patella, which does not affect him. He is sound and any vet check welcome.

Top Pony of the Day: Scout

6yr old, pony x mare. Approx 13.3hh. Up to date with feet, teeth, drench. Scout was broken in end of 2022 and been ridden out and about and in town. Been ridden by herself and with other horses. Not matey. Paddocked with other horses and has been the boss.

Good walk, trot and canter. Good stop. Can be nervous around new people and things, good to catch. Started a bit of liberty and going good. Been ridden around cattle without any problems.

Popped over some jumps and dragged things off her. Good to rug, trim and float. Will make an awesome little horse with further work! Suit intermediate/experienced kid/teen or small adult. Will only go to a knowledgeable home as she does have a few little quirks. Happy to discuss if interested $4,700.
