// Looking for some community work taking care of our dunes and surrounds then get in contact with South West Rocks Community Dune Care.

They do amazing work in our community. Another group of local legends!

The plan for our next ‘bitou bash’ working bee for South West Rocks Community Dune Care is to restore native bushland at the gorgeous Gap Beach on Sunday 27th September – weather permitting. Hope you can come.

We plan to meet at the top car park above Gap Beach South at 8.30 am. We’ll have the Dune Care trailer there so everyone can kit up, before pooling in 4WD vehicles down to the beach. We’ll take some extra tools down in case anyone is late.

If you don’t have 4WD, there’s an option to meet at the end of the bitumen on Gap Beach Road at about 8.20 and hitch a lift in to the top car park.

There’s an impressive spread of cakes and biscuits for morning tea at 11am and our BBQ/salad lunch at 1pm.

Please wear long pants, long sleeves, enclosed shoes or boots (not sandals), a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and bring water. Gloves, tools and training are provided.

If there’s been much rain beforehand, or if the weather looks poor on the day, we’ll change the venue as the 4WD track in can get a bit messy. Keep an eye on Facebook and we’ll update with SMS.

If you are keen to jump in and join our patrolling teams we would love to hear from you. There are an array of awards that you can do including those for people who want to get went and those who want to stay dry.

Our Nippers will be back on the beach in a few weeks and we are welcoming all new and returning members to come on down and say hi, grab all the gear and find out the info at one of our sign-on days (if you can’t make either of these days that is ok we can catch you on another day).

We would also like to welcome our new Junior Activities Coordinator for this season - Bel. Those who have been at Nippers before will have known Bel as one of our amazing Age Managers for a number of years.

// We are still super pumped from hosting the recent Surf Life Saving Australia IRB Championships last month.

It was very exciting for our first ever U23 team, the 'Tinny Rats' to compete on their own beach. They are keen to do it all again next season and want to bring some more people along for the ride.

If you are a member of SWRSLSC or one of the other Mid North Coast Clubs please feel free to come along and join in the fun.

// Due to unforeseen circumstances we have major delays in the construction of our new cool room!!

Unfortunately, this means that the bistro will be closed for another week. Our bar will be open again on Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th from 2.30pm till 5.30pm.

We will be running a BBQ sausage sizzle on Friday!

We apologise for any inconvenience and can't wait to see everyone back for regular service soon!!
