Our first Regional after the events resumed is finished. Since we already locked top 8 of OCIC Junior for Wolrd, this time, we just want to get some big events experience before the World.
We tested multiple decks, and every deck seems to have some bad/auto lose matchup. Among them, Palkia appears to be the one that has an answer against all other decks.
During our initial testing, Palkia deck is very inconsistent. We keep missing Palkia V in T1. Then we changed our deck build to not aim for 1HKO, but to not brick. We play 4 Irida, 3 Ultra Ball and included Trainer Court.
In the end, we even added Eiscue, to help us against Blissey Miltank and Regis. (However, we didn't face any of those in Junior group)
Overall, the list plays very smoothly and does the initial setup well.
Matchups:
Palkia Inteleon W
Palkia Inteleon W
Rapid Strike Malamar T (This is tough, because we don't have any tech cards against it. And they play Manaphy)
Palkia Inteleon W
Palkia Bibarel ID
T8 Samurott Inteleon W
T4 Aceus Duraludon L (Their collapsed stadium hurt us a lot because we only play 1 stadium)
Top 4 + 130CP
905/0
This is so far the best result we achieved in Regional. And of course, this would not happen without the help of so many people in the community.
Thanks to Richard Chong for sourcing our key cards as soon as the new set releases and providing us guidance on what to do when our player is tested Positive before the event. Thanks to Bianca Leonie Anzellotti, Andrew, Tom, Ciaran and others for helping Drake practise at Dice Goblin. Thanks to Joel Crack for hosting Splash Brothers TCG online events which gave Drake a lot of competitive experience. And lastly, thanks to Layton Rumble, Edward Gee, Alex Blong, Skye Godfrey, Geoff Woodhead, Chris Blong and others who supported Drake in the event.

Guysen here,
I played Zacian ADP at the Pokemon TCG OCIC 2020 and placed 110/406.
ROUND 1 - SHOHEI MATSUMOTO [JP] LWL
ADP Zacian mirror match, Japan Variant w/ dragon talon
G1 I flipped tails on 3/4 Pokémon catchers
He got the first KO, GG
G2 I won by outspeeding him with altered creation first and KO
G3 50/50 game, he used professor's research for double custom catcher with only 2 left in deck, GG
ROUND 2 - KEITH YONG [MY] LL
Mew3 Malamar
G1 I had never practiced so I didn't know what to expect, I started with Dedenne gx big charm. He proceeded to search everything and get out gengar mimikyu for a horror house gx, I had 4-5 trainers in my hand :(
G2 dead draw and whiffed all cards, no hand after I altered creation GX
ROUND 3 - RITCHIE COTTON [AU] WW
Pure Nagaguzz
G1 He wanted to start 2nd; he used n’s resolve and whiffed all energy; I setup shrine and just took 2x knock outs on the 2 NagaGuzz in play while he dead drew and manual attached.
G2 He wanted to start 2nd again; he whiffed energy from n’s resolve again and dead drew while I catchered his dedenne; knock out with ADP. He GX attacked with NagaGuzz; I catchered his 1 energy giratina and knocked it out with ADP; then I quick balled for phione to knock out whatever he had left for game.
ROUND 4 - ADAM ZHANG [AU] WW
ADP Zacian mirror match
G1, He dead drew constantly while I could t2 altered creation GX; and won the game from there.
G2 Same as G1
ROUND 5 LUKE SCHMITT [AU] LL
ADP Zacian Mirror match
G1 He had an insane setup with jirachi escape board, absol, Zacian V and ADP 1 energy. All I had was Dedenne big charm to start and nothing on bench until T2. I got a DPL for pre emptive drawing with Oranguru before I decided what to swap; proceeded to dead draw and lose the game after. Absol Extra retreat hurt enough, forcing me to dig for switches, especially when he played 4 custom catcher, AND Pokémon catchers.
G2 He had the exact same insane setup as G1. He top decked prof research 2 turns in a row to his benefit. I managed to altered creation first but had no energy or Zacian in play. I had a dead hand and never got any quick ball until t5. Since I had no energy and he had everything, he knocked me out first; then my draws were pretty sad after; I still had 8 out of 12 energy in my prizes and deck.
I had a big charm on my ADP, saving it’s life, in active which he needed to knock out in order to win, he used jirachi and pulled his 1 Guzma hala out of his deck to search for Lysander labs and won the game.
ROUND 6 - JAMES PATTINSON [AU] WLW
Cinccino stall
G1 Used ADP GX attack early and just flipped 3 heads on catchers for knocks outs
G2 I whiffed energy for ADP GX and attempted to dig to try get something. He then did the Cinccino stall combo: Lt surge, 2x Brycenbella Mew3 ability to copy Magcargo's GX attack for game
G3 I played Lysander labs, Pokémon catchered his Zacian V, then ADP GX. he couldn’t retreat and played no switch or stadiums, I knocked his Zacian out with 2 shot ADP, then phione ability on his ditto for knock out. I then proceeded to flip heads on a catcher on his Cinccino for the final knockout
ROUND 7 - GREGORY MAY [AU] WLW
Blacephalon GX Naga GX
G1 Opponent went first and had poor draw; only getting setup on t3. I only played 2 ADP, no Zacian. He tried to continuously burst burn me for confusion but I flipped heads and got the KO from his first Blace. He whiffed his beast rings and scooped the game.
G2 opponent went first again, but this time got setup faster; I whiffed all my energy I needed for my GX attack t2 and only got it t4, by then it was too late; he burnt 6 energy on mind blown against my 1st ADP. By this time I had no other energy anywhere; I had to double metal saucer my benched Zacian v and return knock out; praying he didn’t have anymore energy; unfortunately he did 😞
G3 I went first; started with Zacian V, attached a metal energy; intrepid sword another energy which ended my turn; I had nothing else and prayed he didn’t have welder blace GX. He flipped over a poipole, weldered to the poipole, and ended his turn. T2 I just attached energy to Zacian v, and donked his poipole for game.
ROUND 8 - BEN ANDERSON [AU] LWW
Cinccino Mill
G1 I played too recklessly and kept using Prof research he then used the Cinccino Mill combo to finish me off for my recklessness: Lt surge double brycenbella + mew3 Magcargo's GX attack.
G2 I played conservatively, kept all catchers in my hand; used oranguru to swap the top card with ones I didn’t want so he could mill them. I used ADP GX attack and always benched phione so he couldn’t discard it. I flipped my heads on catchers and won the game, aiming for Cinccinos to reduce his draw power.
G3 Same as G2.
ROUND 9 - MUNG KING CHAN [HK] ID
Zacian ADP mimiyku
Decided to ID as It was either play it out do or die. My resistance was low due to 3 of the players dropping out, so it was safer to ensure t128 instead of bubble t64 as I was playing on a high enough table.
