The Southport Sharks would like to thank Steve “SJ” Daniel for his incredible contribution to our football club and wish him all the very best as he begins his next chapter with Labrador Football Club.

SJ’s impact on Southport goes far beyond wins and losses.

He will forever hold a special place in Sharks history as the coach who led our senior side to the 2018 NEAFL Premiership — a season and a moment that will always remain part of the fabric of this club.

Thank you for everything you have given to the Sharks, SJ.

We wish you and your family nothing but the best for the next chapter at Labrador.

The Southport Sharks community is deeply saddened by the passing of Glen Middlemiss, a 1985 premiership player and memorable figure in the Club’s history.

Glen joined the Sharks in 1985 following a VFL career with Geelong and St Kilda, making an immediate impact in the black and white.

His place in Southport history was cemented in the 1985 QAFL Grand Final against Mayne, kicking the match-winning goal with just over a minute remaining to secure a three-point premiership victory for the Sharks.

Glen’s contribution to the Club and his role in one of the most memorable moments in Sharks history will always be remembered.

On behalf of everyone at Southport Sharks, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Glen’s family, loved ones, former teammates and friends.
