After 12 months off enjoying life I’ve made the really easy decision for me to officially retire. I would like to thank all the clients that came fishing with me over the years it’s been awesome. Garmin Livescope getting the job done again. Bring on the warmer weather.

The new Garmin set up worked a treat. Sam, Jake and I got into a few watching every fish eat the lure. Casting in front of a barra and putting the lure on its nose took some practice but watching them turn, chase and eat the lure is next level. No question this Garmin gear will give clients more opportunities to catch Barra.

Out on the lake today testing the new Garmin gear I recently had fitted to my BassCat Lynx. I’m now running 2 Livescopes together up the front on a Rob Paine carbon pole. Awesome for perspective and forward mode when Livescoping barra. Both displayed on a Garmin 8416 and 8412 screens up the front. The new Garmin Kracken is the best electric motor I’ve ever owned. Super quiet with an amazing spot lock in light and heavy winds. Doesn’t constantly spin or wrap itself up. I also installed the new Rob Paine adjustable sounder mount at the back with the Garmin 8416. Folds down when travelling and super easy to put up when fishing. Makes livescoping from the back so easy with the screen elevated off the deck. Everything is networked so I can view any screen from the console and tell clients where to cast. The mapping of the lake is outstanding with the whole lake mapped making deep points and rises easy to find. What I love about Garmin is everything just works every time.

Great way to finish off charters until Spring with a nice 110cm for Greg. Taking spring bookings now with October almost full. These fish are only getting bigger!

A few fish from this week. Plenty of big fish getting around at the moment. Jake and Beau dropped 8 metre fish the last 2 days in between boating a few. Biggest on the deck was Jake’s 110cm. Watched most of them eat it on Garmin Livescope which has completely changed the way I fish.

Fishing hasn’t been easy lately with the cooler weather and the rain. Still picking up some nice fish. Gigi with her first barra going 111cm.

Pretty cool when you catch the same barra on charter 4 years apart. He’s gone from 520 to 960.
