Our Pocket Rockets Mini Showcases are tomorrow! We hope no one has jumped in muddy puddles or eaten spaghetti bolognese in their costume... 😅

We love collaboration, feedback, and integrating student ideas into our classes. This is just one case where a student has taught us a new (and frankly, very useful) word- we now use it all the time when talking about pre-showcase feels!

With the mini showcases just around the corner, it's a great time to tell your Pocket Rockets about what to expect on the day of the showcase.

⭐️ Your Pocket Rocket will get to take their costume home at the last class before the showcase. On the day of the show they'll arrive at the theatre in their costume.

⭐️ When you arrive, their teachers and the DD team will greet you and show you where to go. Dancers have colour-coded seats assigned by class so they'll be sitting with their classmates. Our youngest dancers (Launchpad classes) have special rows assigned for families and students so you can sit with your child.

⭐️ Once all dancers in a class have arrived, they'll go up onto the stage to have a look around and get a feel for being in the spotlight... and to find and wave to their family! Then they'll go back to their seats and hang with their friends till show time!

⭐️ When all dancers have had a moment to familiarise themselves with the space and stage, the show begins! We keep the house lights on so it's not dark or scary. Our teachers and assistants dance on stage too, so there's no pressure, just lots of applause and encouragement!

⭐️ When they finish dancing, they'll go back to their seats in the audience and watch the rest of the show.

⭐️ After the show, there's a chance for you to take pictures at our photo wall before getting changed into normal clothes so you can leave your costume at the theatre. No washing costumes – woohoo!

Term 4 classes start tomorrow, Monday 9th October. With our mini showcases just around the corner, we can't wait to get back into the studio and welcome our youngest dancers to the stage the Pocket Rockets way! 🚀

Leap 'N Learn integrates theories from psychology, neuroscience, and Elena's PhD research in the sociology of education to provide effective, engaging and exciting dance classes. We're all about finding the joy of dance through playful and powerful teaching methods that capture the spirit of childhood.

We're super proud to say that our Pocket Rockets get to experience one of the best programs out there for early childhood dance... but our Pocket Rockets also help Elena develop and refine the curriculum to make sure it works like magic for other studio owners too! Whenever she creates new content, Elena tests it in her own classes before refining it and handing it over to our other amazing teachers to test in their classes. If it doesn't pass the Pocket Rockets seal of approval, it doesn't make the cut!
