Just a couple hours North -East of Rockhampton is the little inlet of Stanage Bay. It’s off the beaten track, and known for its picturesque waters and fishing 🎣
We took advantage of the beautiful day, as well as taking Bohdi 🐶 on his first road trip. He did well (although next time he can skip breakfast 🤢)

K’Gari - Fraser Island Day 8

In case you’re tired of seeing all the beautiful coastline beach photos, here’s some rainforest to help break things up a bit 😉

The sounds, smells, wildlife and overwhelmingly tall canopy trees truly make you feel like you’re in some kind of fairy tale.
Aside from noticing a handwritten note on the men’s toilet “brown snake inside” (thank you to whoever put up the warming 😳) - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

K’Gari - Fraser Island Day 5
Ngkala Rocks 🪨- this track is known for its narrow, wet and slippery terrain. We all made it thru unscathed; but you can see how some can run into trouble! 😅😅
Another bucket list track ticked off the list! Now onto the northern most tip of the island to camp with the dingos under the big dune! Stay tuned….

Fraser Island….circa 2003! 1 Canadian backpacker and 7 other like minded strangers gathered together to do a self guided tour of Fraser Island! My memories are a bit blurry - having ending my 4X4 tour in hospital with a badly sprained knee (that’s a story for another time!)

Today, I’m reminiscing as I prepare to take my family along on our own self guided tour of , and let’s hope for no trips to the hospital 🏥 😅🤭🤦‍♀️

Byfield National Park 🏞️

What a trip with good friends ~ between sending it up Big Sandy, sand boarding at the fresh water creek dunes, camping on Nine Mile Beach & making tracks down to Five Rocks Beach - we would highly recommend the scenic destination and given how close it is to home, we will be back! 👊
