Last Sunday we held our annual Club Championships, with a stunning spring day and a very pleasant 18° water setting the scene.

The swell was rolling into the pool, making things a little more interesting for those swimming on the far side, but it all added to the fun of the day.

We worked our way through the age group races, with Over 70s, Over 60s, Over 50s, Over 40s and Over 30s, followed by the Open and Women’s Open.

Then it was time for the Slippery Eel, with seven swimmers in contention for the trophy after completing 100% of the season’s swims: Anno, Dawno, Justin, Ryan, Rach, Graham and Rick.

We finished the swimming with something a little different for Club Champs this year, a two team relay with 11 swimmers in each team.

A great day of racing, plenty of competition and a fantastic way to finish the swimming side of another SEA EELS season. 💙💛

PRESENTATION DAY back at the Stanwell Park Surf Club following our swims to celebrate the season with warm soups, Egg & Bacon Rolls, the Monster Raffle, Fines and, of course, the big question… who will find the JOKER and take home the prize pool?

Bring along some nibbles and settle in for a great afternoon as we celebrate another huge SEA EELS season.

A beautiful spring morning at Coalcliff for our final pointscore swim of the season, and on Father’s Day before Club Champs this Sunday.

23 swimmers took to the 16.5 degree water, with five heats leading into the final. Ryan, Christine, Dawno, Lochie and Barney lined up, with Dawno taking the win.

No one cared about the ‘Who Cares’ 100m this week.

Four relay teams hit the water, with Teams One, Three and Four all breaking. Team Two held it together to take the relay win.

Back at the surf club, Kerrie-Lee’s Moroccan Lamb Soup and Mollie’s Miso Pumpkin Soup with both going down very nicely after the swim.

Casso looked his usual best as this weeks FOX 🦊. Karen took home the raffle, while President Pete had no luck at Joker Poker, selecting the 9♦️ and leaving the Joker safely hidden for another week.

It’s been another great season of Sunday mornings, cold water, close racing, plenty of laughs and good company. One more swim to go, with Club Champs this Sunday.

A stunning morning at Coalcliff, with 18 swimmers taking to a very pleasant 17° water temp.

Justin and I were missing this week, having a pretty good excuse… we got married and I celebrated my 50th!

Despite a few sore heads, several SEA EELS still managed to make pointscore and maintain their 100% swimming record.

Ryan stepped up to run the show in our absence and, by all reports, did such a good job that we may have lost our jobs!

Mollie took out the 50m final, while TEAM ONE claimed the Relay win.

Over at Joker Poker, Anno selected the 6♠️. She did successfully select a voucher card and walked away with a win from Helensburgh Premium Liquor

Rick was this week’s FOX 🦊 while President Pete took out the raffle.

Another great morning at Coalcliff and Stanwell Park with plenty of swimming, laughs and the usual Sunday shenanigans.

A beautiful winter morning at Coalcliff saw 21 swimmers take to the water in a balmy 16.5°.

Five heats were run, with everyone in Heat 3 breaking their times. That set up a final between Dawno, New Mark, Ryan and Rach, with Ryan claiming his first win of the season.

Graham and Russ contested the “Who Cares” 100m, with both breaking their times. Clearly, they don’t care either.

The relay was, as always, an eventful affair. Three teams of seven lined up, and every team broke its time.

Shanus is back in the FOX 🦊 hat this week after finishing 11 seconds off his time.

Steve Mc took out the raffle and then had a crack at Joker Poker following last week’s virtual selection of the King ♠️. No luck this time, and Bobo was also unsuccessful after picking the 6 ❤️, although he did manage to score a voucher card. Thanks to Helensburgh Hotel for their generous donation.

Another Sunday in the books as the winter swimming season rolls on.
