We're Still Looking for a New Club Secretary

Do you love basketball and want to help keep our club running smoothly behind the scenes?
The Strathalbyn & District Basketball Association is seeking a Club Secretary to join our volunteer committee. This is a key role at the heart of the association, and it's currently vacant.

Our association is proudly run by volunteers, and we're looking for an organised, reliable person who wants to give back to the club and community that has given them so much.
What does the Secretary do?

The Secretary is the communication and record-keeping hub of the committee — managing correspondence, taking and distributing meeting minutes, keeping our records in order, and helping coordinate our meetings. You'll be right across everything that keeps SDBA organised and connected.

🚨 URGENT CALL TO OUR BASKETBALL FAMILY 🚨

The clock has officially run out.

Our deadline to fill crucial club roles has passed, and we are now in a desperate position to keep our club moving forward.

We need passionate, dedicated people to step up immediately for two major positions:

FIBA RULE CHANGES EDUCATIONAL SESSION | REGISTRATIONS - NOW OPEN

With some major important changes coming from 1st October 2026. It's important for all referees, coaches and organisers to understand the changes to the rules.

Run by Australian FIBA Instructor, senior NBL and WNBL referee coach Chris Clarke. Chris has many years of experience in refereeing and refereeing coaching at the highest levels and has helped develop many of the current National League and International referees in Australia and New Zealand.

🚨 Player Registration Update 🚨

We are experiencing longer than anticipated technical delays with our player registration process via SA Country Basketball and Basketball Connect.

🏀 We are working hard to resolve this. It is out of our control while they work to identify the problem, repair it and test it.

We will email communication as soon as we have more to share. Please be ready and prepared as you can be, to move forward quickly when you do.

Storm is our High Performance Pathway program.

Calling all future Storm players!

We’re looking for local players born in 2018, 2019 or 2020 to represent Strathalbyn Storm at the Adelaide Hills Basketball Carnival, 11–13 December.

Games will be played across Strathalbyn, Mount Barker and the Adelaide Hills.

Cost: $65 + GST, plus uniform hire/purchase.

MINI HOOPS 2026 - TERM 4 - EOI's

Expressions of Interest for Mini Hoops in Term 4 are officially open!

Mini Hoops is an SA Country Basketball supported, fun and enjoyable introduction to basketball for participants aged between 5-10.

Deadline is Wednesday 30th September 2026, unless allocation is filled prior.

Thank You!

That's the Winter season done and dusted, and before everyone heads off for a break we want to say a proper thank you.

SDBA is run entirely by volunteers. Every game that got played this season happened because someone put their hand up to make it happen, and we do not take that for granted.

To our players, thank you for turning up week after week, giving it your best and playing the game the right way. You are the reason the rest of us do it.

To our parents and supporters, thank you for the early starts, the late finishes, the driving, the washing of uniforms and the encouragement from the sidelines. The atmosphere in our stadium all winter has been fantastic and that is down to you.

To our referees, thank you for taking on one of the hardest jobs in the game. Many of you are still young players yourselves and you have handled every game with maturity and fairness. Without you there is no competition.

To our coaches, thank you for the time you give up every game day, and for the patience and encouragement you show every single player. The improvement across all our teams this season has been obvious.

To our scorers and bench volunteers, thank you for sitting down and getting the job done every week, often at short notice. It is one of those roles people only notice when nobody does it, and you have been there all season.

And to our committee, thank you for the work that happens well away from the court. The rosters, the grading, the equipment, the emails and everything else that keeps the association running.

It has been a great Winter season. Thank you to every single person who played a part in it.
