The secret life of our Instructors!

Meet Our Instructor: Taylor ✨

Taylor is a 3rd year Physiotherapy student at ACU and a Reformer Pilates instructor. She has a passion for strength training, implementing physiological understanding of the mind and body with a genuine love for education to empower others through movement.

Her Pilates journey began after her bodybuilding competition, when she utilised it to rehab her pelvic floor and core control. She loved it so much she went on to complete a clinical Pilates certification for Physiotherapists through the Pilates Institute of Queensland. Pilates changed her life and now she uses that knowledge to help others, combining it with her hands-on experience from her physiotherapy studies, so you’ll definitely walk away from class learning something new.

Outside the studio, she loves solo travelling, working as a model for commercial fitness brands and balancing life between Pilates and bodybuilding. In 2024, Taylor dedicated herself to her love for bodybuilding, proudly debuting and winning PRO athlete cards in both Bikini and Swimsuit with Natural Bodybuilding Australia in her Asia Pacific International competition 🏆

If you know Taylor, you know she loves a good yap and catch-up between classes, and you’ll definitely hear her say “for a cheeky two” more than once 😉

Member spotlight - from fear to 600 classes

You know the feeling when you have been hit by a bus,
Well that's exactly what happened to Tara - she was hit by a bus in India! after a long recovery her arm is now stronger than ever, I would even say sometimes it's the stronger arm on some exercises!

But it wasn't easy having a injury like this shakes your confidence it makes you second guess your ability to join in on any exercise

Some people would let that hold them back, use it as an excuse, well Tara did it took her over 6 months to get the confidence to walk into the studio!

Tara started on the 28 day reset program and has

lost weight
Gained strength
Improved her coordination and confidence
Proven to herself she can

From someone who was scared to start
To someone who shows up, moves with confidence, and absolutely owns it!

But honestly the biggest win isn't the number of classes - it's the belief in herself

You don't need to be fit or coordinated to start you just need to start

Stretch out your spine it works hard everyday!
In our stretch class we use a small pilates ball to gently open the chest and create space
Leaving your back feeling free and energised

Simple movements like this one will improve posture and ease tight muscles, perfect if you sit a lot or feel that hunched feeling in your upper back!

Jo has been part of our community for 7 years and was the first one to sign the 100, 300 and 600 classes sign (we only started counting classes 2 years ago) such great dedication!

Toned Pilates Studio will be closed on Friday, April 25th in honour of ANZAC Day.

We pause to remember and pay our respects to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our countries. Lest we forget.

Classes will resume as normal on Saturday.
