We had an amazing day on Monday celebrating the last Sportshare session of the year.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Reclink Shed community lunch yesterday so special. These days don’t happen by accident they happen because people show up, give their time, and care.
With deep gratitude to:

Werribee Rotary Club
Lynn Fava - Reflexology course and confidant to many.
John Lister, Member for Werribee

Jenny and Jacqui for the delicious feast.
Father Mark Godridge for leading our prayers
Julia Allsop and Stephen Coutts for the beautiful singing
Greg and Daniel for an enormous effort getting bikes out to predominantly migrant families
John Campbell for the countless behind-the-scenes efforts that make everything feel seamless
Jeanette Burge for the incredible preparation — individual gifts, plum puddings and decorations
Bernie Morrizzi for the extra work preparing the grounds
Chrissie and family for the many thoughtfully prepared gifts
Brendan and Zip Murphy from The Bread Hub for the delicious pastries
Library Wholesalers - Anne and Peter Stutchberry for providing a treasure trove of quality books

We also want to thank our regular attendees, and everyone who couldn’t be with us, you were very much in our thoughts and part of the spirit of the day.

We look forward to seeing you then, have a safe and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Sharing the joy of sport
Your old sporting gear might be a new start for someone who needs it most and Reclink’s Sportshare Christmas Drive might be the perfect opportunity to make that difference. People across the western suburbs are encouraged to donate their old bats, balls and whatever they might not use for those in...

Monday’s SportShare was an absolute vibe!
We kept the energy high with table tennis rallies, epic giant Connect 4 battles, and of course, some classic footy fun. 💥⚽🧠
Massive love to Sacha Kaluri for pulling up with awesome activities plus a powerful chat on the importance of positive self-talk. It hit home in all the best ways. 💬❤️
Grateful for everyone who showed up and brought the good vibes — we appreciate you all! ❤️

Meet Dougie – Footy Coach, Community Champion, and Sports Shed Regular!
Dougie from Tarneit Senior College has been connecting his students to Reclink for the past three years — and it all started with a Thursday visit from Fofo.
“Fofo used to come down and run sport with our kids. Then we got invited to a Reclink breakfast, and that’s when we realised how big this thing actually is.”
Since then, Tarneit has become a regular visitor to the Reclink Sports Shed, picking up balls, mats, cones, rugby shields — you name it.
“If it’s there, and it helps our kids get moving, we’ll use it. It saves us jumping through red tape, and we know it’s coming from a good place.”
Dougie and his team make sure students know where the gear comes from, too — always giving Reclink a shout-out and linking kids into other Rec programs like bike share and local trail riding.
“We’ve got big kids, mostly Pasifika background. Some of them are being looked at by Storm. But gear goes missing, stuff breaks… Reclink keeps us going. If I had to order it all through school, I’d be waiting weeks. Here, I just call Fofo.”
From tackling equipment shortages to tackling obesity, Dougie’s on the front line — and we’re proud to support schools like his.
Massive thanks to Dougie, Hoki, and all the crew at Tarneit Senior for making sport part of everyday life.

A MESSAGE FROM RECLINK CONNECT
On behalf of Reclink Connect staff and volunteers, we want to thank all our participants for making—and continuing to make—this program a success. Together, we’ve created a space where people can improve their health and well-being through movement and connection.
What began as a single online yoga class during COVID has grown into a cornerstone of our organization, now offering approximately 600 classes and providing around 4,000 participation opportunities each year.
We’re thrilled to once again offer the Reclink Connect program over the Christmas and New Year break—a time of great need for many, especially those living alone or in remote communities.
As we head into the festive season, we’re excited to announce a couple of special additions to the schedule:
Tuesday, December 17th, at 11:15 AM AEDT
Our good friend Isaac will lead an AUSLAN-signed Strength at Home class. It has been inspiring to watch Isaac develop both his delivery skills and class content. Please join us to support his passion for inclusive exercise and communication.
Thursday, December 19th, at 1:00 PM AEDT
FAREWELL 2024
We’ll gather to reflect on the year, celebrate the contributions of everyone involved in the Reclink Connect program, and bid farewell to 2024.
Following the meeting, at 2:00 PM AEDT, Sophie will lead the final Dancefit class of the year—everyone is invited to join and get their boogie on!
Thank you for being part of this journey, and we look forward to continuing to connect, move, and grow together.
Kindest regards,
Rhan, Brendan and the Reclink Connect team.
