Its story time, why yoga?

I thought it is time that I share with you a little more of my story and how yoga has helped me.

The practices of yoga were transformational tools that I discovered many years ago.

These tools have brought me much peace, acceptance and understanding of myself, others and the world around me.

When my family home burnt down to the ground in 2019, and I lost everything possession I had ever owned.
It was then, that these practices I had studied for years really came into play.

Having tangible tools at hand to help soothe my nervous system and to calm my mind so that I could be present for my family in a very very challenging time, saved me.

So many of yogas teachings became so relevant at that particular time in my life.

Non-attachment, acceptance, self love. Finding comfort in discomfort, finding calm inside of the storm.

Letting myself feel it all without expecting those feelings to look or to be a certain way.

Then, I found peace in movement.

I learnt that by challenging myself to do hard things with my body, I was capable of doing hard things in life.

In fact, I learnt I was way more capable than I had ever realised.

The transformational lessons of yoga, physical and philosophical, saved me and continue to help me every single day.

That is why I want to share them with you!

We all have our story, our challenges, our heartbreaks and our triumphs.

I truely believe that if we all learnt the lessons of yoga at school, the world would be a better place.

We are all on this path, this journey together.

As Ram Dass says,

“We are all just walking each other home”.
