Well done Nate!
Nate’s been on a run scoring spree for this entire season it feels like! Plays for multiple teams and is a run machine in all!

There is no substitute for hard work & that’s the difference a lot of the time.
Great commitment mate, you’re reaping what you sow 🏏

Well done to Nate Wallden for taking out the SCCA U14 Rep player of the year award. Congratulations Nate!

Running between the wickets 🏃🏼‍♂️
🏏
Now you don’t win games of cricket with WALKS!
Every run is a RACE. Between you and the fielding team & you can put massive amounts of pressure on fielders just by simply running hard.
🏏
The best batsman aren’t “freaks”. They consistently do the little things right. Creating clarity around what those little things are, repetitions & ex*****on is how you improve.
Run every first run like there’s ALWAYS TWO ✌🏼

Scenario - 4, 4 & two balls to bowl.
Do we;
(A) Change the field and bowl a different delivery?
OR
(B) Leave the field the same and bowl the same delivery but better executed?

How good is your personal accountability when bowling?
What “should” you do? 🏏 Let me know 👇🏼

MAKE BATTING HARDER..
🏏
But this post is about learning.
🏏
Listening to Marnus Labuschagne explain his reasoning for making his “backyard” cricket as challenging as possible has so many take aways.
🏏
Don’t wait to learn.
Marnus is clearly a learner still, you can hear his enthusiasm & passion.
HE IS THE BEST TEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, if it’s good enough for him.. 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️
Finding knowledge worth knowing can only be achieved by first thinking about what it is that you actually value.
Everyone is different and no one else can tell you exactly what to value.
That’s the thing about it, if YOU don’t take a moment to work out some things YOU already value, YOU will never know if YOU are heading in the direction toward success.
See how many YOU’s were in that?
It’s all you legend, you hold the power.
The power to think.

Straight Drive & Balance.
🏏
There is lots to learn watching this years Ashes series.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 haven’t had a lot go right for them & Cricket has a way of exacerbating what initially appears as balanced decisions.

It’s always easier in hindsight to see what went wrong.

Whoever you back, you have to be impressed with Joe Root’s composure, balance & intent at the crease.

This drive is a classic example of mindset.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 just lost Stokes and were 5 for 49.
Did Root shut up shop? Nope.

Justin Langer once said in “The Test” on Amazon Prime that “the best way to survive is to look to score.”

Don’t be the “receiver of bowling”..
BE the “retriever of runs”.

Failure as a batter is more the lack of impactful runs than it is about your dismissal.

Your job is to score runs. Focus heavily on that.
